Rising Stars: Meet Zoe Chin loy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoe Chin loy.

Hi Zoe, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started blogging this year during the pandemic. This is something I have been wanting to do for a while but because I am a business owner and a mom of 3 and wife, I never found the time. But since I couldn’t work during covid I was able to find the time to start blogging via Instagram. I started blogging because I had dealt with self-hate for so long and was so unhappy/depressed with myself. I was imprisoned with negative self-hating thoughts for over 10 years. When I finally started myself love journey, I felt so free! I couldn’t believe that I had waisted sooooo much time trapped by my own thoughts and all I had to do was choose gratefulness and self-love to feel so good and liberated. I know a lot of women struggle with this and that is why I decided to start my blog. I wanted women to feel as good as I now do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Thank God people have been extremely receptive to my posts as I feel like most women have experienced/experience self-hate/ insecurities. So, they are able to see me, someone with such extreme “flaws” loving them self and they know that it’s possible to start loving themselves as well.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a spa owner/ Artist and a blogger creator. I own Mint brows which is microblading company and we have been around for 5 years but I have personally been doing brows for 16 years now (I started when I was 13) Brows and blogging are my passion. They both help women feel more confident
but the thing I am most proud of my kids! They are my biggest accomplishment and fans as I am theirs. After my kids I’m most proud of my drive/businesses, I opened my spa at the age of 26 and I started blogging at the age of 29 and they have both been successful, all though they still have more growing to do I am proud of all the good I have done and how many women I am able to help. I think what sets me apart from others is my genuine passion to help others. It’s not just about making money it’s about truly making a difference.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe that any success I have had is
result of preparation meeting opportunity. A lot of the opportunities that I have has been because I put myself out there. I genuinely like to connect with people and simultaneously I’m networking so it always works out. “The more I sweat the luckier I get”-unknown. And as far as bad things that have happened it always sucks at that moment, but I’m yet to have a bad experience that hasn’t taught me something/ been a blessing in disguise.

Love your story, and the photos. I think we need this to be more widely discussed. Our bodies are perfect as they are. We should all dare to be different by embracing our bodies, mentally and spiritually it leads to understanding true self worth/value. Thanks for sharing your story.
