Rising Stars: Meet Yshia Condezo of South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yshia Condezo.

Hi Yshia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Photography was a longtime hobby of mine and that led me into the world of film production. Growing up with two different cultures, I collected many stories from my travels to my parents’ countries. This inspired my love for storytelling and I was motivated to start my own photo and video business in 2020. It started off as a part-time, then became totally stagnant when I picked up a full-time tv job, and then when that production was over – I decided to turn away from working other jobs and invest in Yshia Films. It’s been my full time job for the past 3 years and, to this day, God continues to sustain it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The struggles I still have to face are the slow seasons and finding new ways and places to market in. Slow seasons will happen in all industries, it’s just a matter of preparing for it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work consists of filmmaking and portrait photography. I mainly do photoshoots for families, artists, and weddings. I have produced videos for artists, professionals, and weddings. Last year, I started teaching photography for kids and adults and it’s been an awesome experience watching others develop their creative eye.
What I’m most proud of is a short documentary I directed and produced in 2022 about the lives of former foster youth. That experience made me realize I love producing and project managing, such as handling all the logistics in pre-production. Most recently this year, I produced a photography project about the body, mind, and soul sharing my personal growth in the form of a story. I did an interview talking about this project, which will be shared this Fall on my youtube channel.
I have no idea what sets me apart from other artists, other than my faith in Jesus. Every good idea I’ve had has come from Jesus, and with that I just want to give all credit to Him.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
In due time, I’d love to work with a social media assistant and an accountant because the financial aspect of the business needs to be well-taken care of, too.
I’m looking to collaborate with more artists and create good and meaningful art! Best way to contact me or support my business is visiting my website (www.YshiaFilms.com) and sharing what I do.
