Hi Yana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Manicure became a part of my life back in 2010, initially as my favorite hobby. Despite remaining a primary school teacher by profession, my love for nails always remained steadfast. While pursuing my teaching degree and residing in the dormitory, I provided manicure services to my friends, gradually turning this hobby into a part of my professional journey.
After completing my education in 2015, I returned home and decided to further develop my passion by working under a master where I took manicure courses. In the summer of 2016, I opened my own manicure and pedicure studio. Within a year, I founded “Nail & Beauty Studio,” offering diverse services with a dedicated team.
With the unexpected outbreak of war in Ukraine, my family and I relocated to Europe in February 2022. While my business continued for another six months, I decided to close it due to a lack of staff. After moving to the USA, initially choosing New York, I ultimately decided to settle in Miami in September 2022. Here, I resumed my career working in a salon on a percentage basis while simultaneously building my client base.
In March 2023, I left the salon and opened my studio – “Top Nails Studio.” Top Nails Studio is a place where we offer refined (Russian) Ukrainian manicure and pedicure services. We always stay updated with the latest trends, ensuring our clients receive stylish and modern looks. You can trust in your health as we use only sterile instruments and disposable consumables. While our studio is already known to many, we continuously strive for improvement and provide the best services.

I understand that this is just the beginning, and I am proud to have opened my business in the USA in just six months, being an immigrant from an ordinary family in Ukraine and achieving success on my terms without working for someone else’s success.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Certainly, this journey hasn’t been easy, as I, being an immigrant, arrived knowing nothing: neither the language, nor the laws, nor how business operates here. To gain experience, I decided to work in a salon on a percentage basis, just to get a glimpse of how things work and conquer my fears a bit.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a highly skilled professional in the field of manicures and pedicures, I possess expertise in executing Russian gel manicures, smart pedicures, and intricate nail extensions. My proficiency extends to captivating designs and hand-painted artwork, adding a creative and personalized touch to my work. With these skills, I strive to provide clients with the highest level of service, allowing them to indulge in impeccable beauty and care for their nails and feet.
My distinction from other nail technicians lies in my ability to perform a very precise combined manicure, where I prioritize cleanliness and pay special attention to cuticle care. Additionally, I take pride in being an ambassador of the French manicure, showcasing my expertise in this particular form of art.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
In conclusion, during the COVID-19 crisis, it became crucial for nail technician to maintain a deep passion for their profession while simultaneously prioritizing their health and well-being. The crisis underscored the importance of striking a balance between dedication to work and personal self-care, as well as highlighting the significance of career development and adaptation to new realities.
