Hi Victoria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Tori and I own Chef Tori- Personal Chef LLC. I’ve worked in restaurants since I was 15, originally New York, then PA, and Florida since 2017. I attended an ACF accredited culinary school and I fell further in love with food. I’ve been able to experience and learn wide varieties of cuisines, foods, cooking methods and styles, and range in atmospheres. I’ve worked high end fine dining restaurants to corporate run fast paced to catering events, and a lot in between. I knew I wanted to continue working with food and get on a more personal level with clients. I decided to open my own business, meal prepping in home, delivery, and pickup; fine dining in-home; as well as catering events and food vending. I’ve been in the industry now for 10+ years and I’m here to show you in Palm Beach county FL, what a difference loving working with food can do on your meals as well as your relationship with food. I take pride in my variety, my knowledge of allergies and diets, and my willingness to go that extra step to make sure the client is getting the menu they would want. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As most people do, I faced challenges along the way that made me to be who I am today. Most challenges coming from the fact that I’m a young, female, in a vastly male industry. I continued to push, work hard, and ultimately it’s what pushed me to realize that the only way I was going to get the standards and respect that I deserved, was to open my own business and uphold those standards myself. I also faced financial struggle, while it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. I went through hard medical times that caused me to change jobs, and just genuinely didn’t come from a lot and have worked for everything that I have, supporting opening my own business as a solo endeavor.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a personal chef, I cook for clients whether at their home, delivered meals, or catered events. I specialize in menu flexibility, being open to making almost anything for my clients; as well as healthy quality food that tastes just as good as if it had all the extra calories. I’m known for my menu flexibility, macro and food knowledge, and online presence through ordering capabilities, blogs, and social media. I’m most proud of overcoming challenges and having a strong successful start to opening my own business, doing what I love, and helping people better their relationship with food. What sets my personal chef service and I apart from others is all of the above mentioned, my focus on menu flexibility and giving the client the control over what they eat; nutrition and macro knowledge and plans available; flexible chef services from catering to delivered meals to food vending events; and my attention to detail, focus, work ethic, and communication.
