Hi Tia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Music has always been a part of my life. I started by singing in church, performing in school chorus programs, and even having fun with spontaneous freestyle sessions with friends. As I got older, I realized music was more than a hobby—it was my calling.
In 2023, I moved to Atlanta to pursue my career more seriously and challenge myself as an artist. Like many journeys, it came with its share of trials and tribulations. Eventually, I returned to South Florida and had to navigate the realities of building a music career in Miami’s competitive scene. There were moments of doubt, setbacks, and lessons that helped shape both the artist and the woman I am today.
Through perseverance and faith, things have started to align in ways I once only imagined. I’ve had the opportunity to open for Trina on multiple occasions, perform during South by Southwest, and use my platform to give back to underserved communities through outreach and community service initiatives.
Today, this season feels different. It feels intentional. Every challenge prepared me for this moment, and every victory reminds me why I started. I’m incredibly grateful for the journey, the growth, and the people who have supported me along the way. More than ever, I’m excited about what’s ahead and committed to making music that inspires, empowers, and tells my story authentically.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges in my journey has been learning who to trust. The music industry can be overwhelming at times, and I’ve had experiences where people didn’t always have my best interests at heart. As an independent artist, I’ve had to learn how to protect my vision, set boundaries, and make decisions that align with my long-term goals.
There have also been moments where balancing the demands of my career, business responsibilities, and personal life felt overwhelming. The pressure to keep moving forward while building something meaningful isn’t always easy.
However, those experiences taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of surrounding myself with the right people. Every challenge has helped me grow, and today I’m more confident, focused, and intentional about the path I’m creating for myself.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a recording artist, songwriter, and entrepreneur who creates music rooted in authenticity, empowerment, and real-life experiences. My goal is to make music that inspires confidence, resilience, and growth while remaining true to who I am.
What sets me apart is that I’m building more than a music career, I’m building a brand and a legacy. As an independent artist, I’m hands on with every aspect of my journey, from the creative process to the business side of the industry. I’m also passionate about giving back to my community and using my platform to make a positive impact.
What I’m most proud of is my growth. From performing at SXSW to opening for Trina and serving underserved communities, every milestone has been earned through faith, hard work, and perseverance. Through it all, I’ve remained committed to my vision and purpose.
