Rising Stars: Meet Tchesny Marcelin of North Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tchesny Marcelin

Hi Tchesny, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
She Bloom began as a seed God planted in my heart back in August 2018, initially as “Kingdom Queen,” a positive youth development program for young girls. At that time, I was scared and unsure of where to start, so the vision stayed on the back burner.

As my faith grew and my walk with God deepened, He brought this vision back to life. I was shaped by my experiences growing up—being part of Girls of Distinction at Good News Church, dancing in the church team, and attending women’s conferences with my Aunt Susie. These moments fueled my desire to build something that empowered women.

In September 2021, I finally surrendered and decided to follow God’s call. In October 2021, I hosted the very first She Bloom women’s conference, marking the beginning of something extraordinary. What started as a single event quickly evolved into something much bigger—a thriving community. Fast forward two years, and I’ve already hosted two women’s conferences and one women’s gathering event.

She Bloom isn’t just events; it’s a space where women come together to inspire, connect, and grow in their faith. It’s a place where we bloom as women of God, no matter the season or circumstances, and support one another in walking out God’s plans for our lives.

Walking in faith hasn’t always been easy, but it has been worth every step. Trusting God’s plan has stretched me, tested me, and grown me in ways I never imagined. I’m excited to see where God leads She Bloom next, and I can’t wait to take you all along on this journey of faith, growth, and blooming into all God has called us to be.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has certainly had its challenges. One of the main struggles has been maintaining consistency while managing all the activities and programs I’m involved in. Balancing everything while striving to stay true to SheBloom’s mission can be demanding. Additionally, being consistent with posting content that inspires growth and encourages our community has required intentionality and commitment.

Two scriptures that have been especially meaningful in addressing these challenges are Galatians 6:9, which reminds us, ‘Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up,’ and Isaiah 40:31, which says, ‘But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’ These verses encourage me to remain steadfast and trust in God’s strength to continue the work He has called me to do, even when the road is tough.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I began my Starbucks journey in 2017 as a barista, and since 2021, I have served as a store manager. I’m also the district community lead, focusing on creating partnerships with non-profit organizations and coordinating volunteer efforts to make a positive impact locally. In addition to my community work, I’m dedicated to developing new leaders as a manager trainer, having recently trained two assistant managers in the past six months. Beyond Starbucks, I am actively involved with Good News Church in North Miami, where I serve and contribute to our church community.

I am most proud of the genuine connections I’ve been able to create within the community. Whether it’s through collaborating with local non-profits or finding ways to support and uplift others, I find purpose in building meaningful relationships that go beyond just business interactions.

What sets me apart is my dedication to service both in and outside of my role. I believe in leading with empathy and a strong sense of purpose. This approach allows me to connect deeply with people, identify their needs, and work collaboratively to make a positive difference. It’s more than a job to me; it’s about inspiring others and creating a lasting impact wherever I can.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I envision SheBloom becoming a vital resource and community space dedicated to inspiring and fostering growth. Through our events, volunteer opportunities, community connections, devotionals, and more, I see SheBloom as a hub where women can be uplifted and empowered. Our journey so far has shown me the impact of creating meaningful spaces for faith-based growth, and projects like our SheBloom stationery line allow us to extend this mission even further.

With SheBloom now established as an LLC, I plan to seek grants and sponsorships to support our initiatives. This approach enables us to keep our events free and accessible, relying on external funding to sustain our work rather than charging attendees. My hope is to continue expanding SheBloom’s reach, offering even more resources and programs to meet the needs of our community in the years to come.
