Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefano Toller
Hi Stefano Toller, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It has been a long journey, and there is still much more to travel. I was born in Peru and my first approach to music was at the age of 13. My grandmother gifted me a guitar because I had signed up for a music workshop at my school. From that moment on, I began to understand the guitar and fell in love with music. Since I was very young, I knew I had a strong interest
At first, I didn’t know how to sing; I had to enroll in many singing classes to get to know my voice and refine my technique. As the years went by, the consequence of falling in love with music is that one wants to replicate what captivated them—namely, to create and compose music. In that context, at the age of 15, I formed my rock and indie pop band, INZUL, which is now well
At 18, I decided to study music with a specialization in songwriting. Being deeply involved in music, writing songs became something that fascinated me, which is why I chose to specialize in it. Within this musical subworld, I became interested in writing for urban music, gaining some experience in that genre. In 2023, I officially launched my solo urban project and was selected to participate in a Netflix series called LA FIRMA. This opened many doors
As I mentioned at the beginning, it has been a long road, but there is still much more to travel. However, getting to this point has involved a lot of learning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t an easy journey. I think the hardest part is overcoming mental obstacles. In music, you often don’t see immediate results; there is a path and a process you must go through. However, many people aren’t accustomed to enduring this process, where discipline and patience must be the greatest virtues.
During this time, I faced various difficulties. A much-anticipated collaboration was canceled, I encountered a lack of support from many people, and the scarcity of resources to invest in my project presented additional challenges. Additionally, the constant comparison with other artists can cloud your vision.
One of my toughest moments came when, driven by envy and bath faith, a former colleague and friend tried to sabotage my artistic career.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an artist and multi-instrumentalist specializing in composition and music production. My passion for music is reflected in my skills on the guitar and vocals. I’m known for my band, Inzul, as well as my solo urban project featured in Netflix’s “La Firma.” I’ve written songs for various artists and performed at several festivals in my home country.
I take great pride in my persistence and the accomplishments I’ve achieved so far, as well as the resilience I’ve maintained throughout this journey. What sets me apart is my background in a rock and indie pop band combined with my urban project where I explore reggaeton and trap. This blend of genres allows me to create a unique identity that merges urban sounds with indie alternative elements.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
It may sound cliché, but never give up on pursuing your dreams. If achieving your dreams were easy, what would be the point? Embrace the journey—it’s the most beautiful part. Facing obstacles, experiencing frustration, and then finding solutions, enduring storms and eventually seeing the sun—this is where the true essence lies.
My most important piece of advice is that to succeed, you only need one person to believe in you, and that person should be yourself. It doesn’t matter if no one else does. You have the power to change the world if you believe in your vision.
And never forget, social media is your best friend
