Rising Stars: Meet Shane Koch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shane Koch.

Hi Shane, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Originally from Bern, Switzerland but growing up in South Florida, I was definitely an outcast. I got my first camera at the age of 9 and I’ve been taking photos ever since.

By the time I turned 16, I got a shot with RedBull and became South Florida’s RedBull Air Force Team photographer for their air shows. I am also a stuntman and professional skier. I am currently 18 years of age. I live down here in South Florida with my mother and my dog who is a famous personality on social media, called Callum the Ridgy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I can definitely say that it has not been the easiest road to get where I am today. I grew up with Tourette’s syndrome, so that was quite a struggle for me.

Teachers and students throughout school have made fun of me, but I got over those hurdles by just being myself through my humorous and comedic ways. Also, having Callum, my dog, with me, as well as my parents, have been a huge help and support to get me where I am today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional photographer for the red bull air force team. I specialize in action, photography. I’m also a professional, skier and stuntman.

I am most proud of getting my position as a photographer for Red Bull. I think what sets me apart from others is definitely my creative approach and view in my photography.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Music has definitely been a big help to me and they definitely help support my creativity.
