Today we’d like to introduce you to Rippa DeLaHoya.
Hi Rippa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I loved music since I was a child, back in the day, my cousin made me a CD collection with (Cash Money, No Limit, Wyclef Jean, Trick Daddy, etc.), I also use to be glued to 99 Jamz.
So, I started to rap at 14, I wasn’t all that, lol. I think I got better at 19. By 21, I learned how to produce & make beats, my creative tag is everybody’s favorite thing to say.
So, I’m blessed and humbled to know that I’m heard as an artist and gold & platinum producer.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is ever easy, I went from homeless, transgressions, trials & errors, to making money & gaining recognition for something I love to do, went from fighting to live.
To live like I never thought I would, it took me time to get comfy with having things because I never had them, as a shorty my mama left me abandoned, but the obstacles in life made me appreciate everything God had blessed me with.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known as an artist & producer, as a producer, I’m known for my famous tag “Rippa on the beat b****h.”
I’ve worked with Chris Brown, Young Thug, Nipsey Hussle (RIP), Kodak Black, City Girls, Kevin Gates, Moneybaggyo, NBA Young Boy, Wyclef Jean, and started with everybody in the crib first from Mike Smiff, Kiddo Marv, Major Nine, Ice Berg, Mirror Monk, Terra Traniece, Bushy B, and Tafia, anybody you can think of.
I am always proud of every moment I’ve had in music; these is my top 5 moments:
1. Getting plaques for Kodak Black “Dying To Live” project & Kevin Gates “Luca Brasi 3”
2. My 2020 project “Yours truly, love Rippa” is one of my highest streamed projects (thank you five for the cover).
3. Producing “Fool Me Once” for Tierra Traniece.
4. Seeing my name at the end of Bad Boys 3 movie.
5. Just being discussed in rooms I’ve never even walked in, forever grateful.
As for what sets me apart from ppl, I think I’m willing to push the limit, I love music of all kinds, I’m built to be a part of the legacy called music, I’m built different, I’m a hybrid, I’m getting it done on both ends & not like everybody else I’m really in my own lane from making music to producing, I just want to be great.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Stay focused, stay out everybody’s way, wear a mask, and make the best out of it, money and all.
