Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Garcia.
Hi Nick, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started making music around 2016 & around 2018 is when I started taking it seriously and investing in my craft and linking up with different producers such as BeatsNDaHood, Gnautica, TropDaVinci, and NixonOnTheTrack & right around 2019 I created my brand it’s called “Depinga!”
As you can see I’m Cuban LMAO but I saw it was something that people related to and I adopted it as my slogan & now it’s my company I have it llc’ed & I trademarked “Depinga!” Aswell I sell depinga MERCH on depingaent.com for anyone that truly supports but besides that, I’ve been dropping music & music videos consistently since 2020 & I got a lot more to go.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been ups and downs especially since I’ve been true to myself & people sometimes seem to not like authenticity. In 2019 I dropped the first installment of my album “King Of Kendall” & it was me making my statement that I was going to represent where I was from no matter what even if people hated my city for no reason. I’m going to always rep it loud & proud & just because I’m the “King of Kendall” doesn’t mean I’m this arrogant or cocky douchebag.
I just want to show the world it’s ok to be who you are & rep where you are from, you don’t need to fake it so people can fuck with you & a disclaimer. Shout out to Dj EFN that’s the real KING OF KENDALL CEO OF Drink Champs/Chp he’s given a Chico nothing but game & wisdom that I will always appreciate funny things on my second installment album “King Of Kendall 2”. He did an intro on the first track Depinga 2.0 Prod by BeatsNDaHood and with all that being said because I go so hard for my city people seem to not like that for their reasons.
But it’s never stopped me buts it’s always something that I’ve noticed they hate on you, especially if your rep from Kendall it’s like they think everyone from here is a bad person. I don’t know but I don’t care all I say is don’t judge a book by its cover and shoutout my brother Karim of Kendall Supply brand with his MERCH on my album covers for the first king of Kendall installment, I don’t think it would have gone as viral as it did.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Honestly, I’m most proud of just being able to stay consistent as a recording artist you know some days I have writer’s block but we all are human right? I specialize in making music specifically I’m not too specific, I’m everywhere In English & Spanish, so I make a variety of fusions like mixing both languages of Spanish songs on its like reggaeton dembow &, etc. What sets me apart is that I’m myself I don’t fall for the trends or try to look like what’s going on at the moment I’m just me.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Consistency I had to stay consistent & this is just the tip of the iceberg. I have a long way to go I’m still learning & growing every day.
