Today we’d like to introduce you to Mojena Talien.
Mojena, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been an artist ever since I was a child. I used to always write stories and paired them with elaborate illustrations. I’m sure they’re somewhere at my mom’s house. That passion transitioned to theatre, film, & photography throughout high school and college. I went to acting school in New York City and then I studied film production in south Florida. I can’t imagine not creating. No matter where I end up, I’ll always be working on something. I’m one of those artists who has to be creating or I feel like I’m wasting energy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To be honest, because I’m extremely social, it has been pretty smooth for me to join creative teams and collaborate. I’m also very good at getting ideas across and explaining what’s going on in my brain. I am happy with my journey and it is my own.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an actress (mostly theatrical) and I also have a passion for working on theatre production teams as a crew member or director. There is absolutely nothing like seeing a show come to life from auditions, rehearsal, tech week, opening night and running until closing. Every single audience is different and it’s nice to hear their reaction to your months of work. That’s why I love theatre arts, you are in constant communication with a live audience. When I’m not acting, im teaching theatre acting to the youth, or on crew either running the light board or one of the spotlights.
