Today we’d like to introduce you to Miraie.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Miraie, and I started making YouTube videos since 2015.
10 years later, I still make YouTube videos, and making music as a side project!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been smooth for me, but I appreciate everything I have at the moment.
Some of the struggles being unable to come up with video ideas, or you have a really amazing plan in mind, but couldn’t execute it well, such as video titles, thumbnails, intro etc.
I was a vlogger in the 2018-2019 era, but since COVID happened at the start of 2020, that really impacted my channel. I lost basically all momentum, and shutting yourself in the house for multiple years made me started making music.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Before I get into what I do, I need to give a little bit of context. I’m born in a gaming & anime environment. My dad loves anime & playing games, and my mom is also a gamer. I grew up in an environment like that. Since kindergarten, I go to school, get home, finish homeworks, then I play games or watch cartoons/anime on the TV. My parents used “games” as a reward for me for completing tasks from school. This was when TV used to be square size too. I started Pokemon on the Nintendo GameBoy SP since I was like 6. I would also watch my dad finishes multiple playthrough of Resident Evil 4 on the PS2. That was scary as hell. As I grow older my dad would play World of Warcraft, Left 4 Dead 1&2 with me, and the rest was history.
Because of this kind of environment, everything I do in life right now is always related to anime and or game related stuff. I don’t think I specialize in anything, I always think of myself as jack of all trades, master of none. I know how to do a lot of things, but I’m not really professional at anything I do. I just try to have fun whenever I work on anything.
The thing I’m most proud of myself is how I’m always able to keep it real. If someone tell me that the things I do is “not cool”, I’ll still do it. Life is too short to enjoy. I don’t wanna leave this world with regrets. I wanna be someone that’s proud and tell my parents that because of you two, I’m able to live an amazing life.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Never lose track of yourself no matter what numbers you are pulling. I’ve seen so many creators/artists changed when they grew bigger, and that made me sad. I’m talking both personality & arts.
