Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlyne Ezekiel.
Hi Marlyne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I always had a passion for hair as a child, as I grew I got more into the beauty industry and started doing my friend’s and classmate’s hair in middle school to high school. I always wanted to pursue hair as a career but due to cultural influence, I steered more to the medical field. But I never felt fulfilled, and I always found myself back doing what I love most which was Hair. So in 2020, I decided to take on a career as a cosmologist, and pursue my dreams, but I can say the grace of God has kept me going, and my supportive husband has kept encouraging when I felt like giving up. Since 2020 I have been doing hair full time. I’m currently in beauty school, after graduation, I plan on expanding and continuing to pursue my career. Also relaunching my online beauty store.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It Hasn’t always been a smooth road. I opened my business during the pandemic which was a challenge within itself. Shortly after, I had my daughter which was such a blessing for my family and I. But juggling both business and family can have its difficulties at times. But I thank God for his grace and favor. Because I believe God doesn’t give us what we can’t handle.
What’s next?
My future plan is to own my own full-scale salon, and also a beauty store.
