Rising Stars: Meet Mariana Umana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariana Umana.

Hi Mariana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started a travel blog about 6 years ago, I loved connecting with my community and sharing tips and useful information. Over the years, my tastes have evolved, my community has expanded, and I have also started talking about fashion and lifestyle.

My life changed with the sudden death of my mother, and at that moment my project on social networks changed drastically. I started talking about the importance of living and enjoying today, of making the most of our lives. Later I got pregnant, and now I’m a mom to Mia and Maya, and I decided to use my networks to help all the moms out there, just like me.

Now I talk about real motherhood, breastfeeding, myths and realities of being a mother, and I always seek to help and support. As I always say: happy mom, happy baby!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Social networks show only 15% of reality. The hardest thing is to deal with that, understand that nothing is perfect, stop romanticizing everything, and understand that we are human, real people, and not just algorithms.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a blogger who specializes in maternity and lifestyle. I am different from the others because I love talking about real motherhood and having honest conversations with moms.

When we are pregnant there are many things that they do not tell us and we have to discover and learn on our own, but that is why I am there. I am so proud of the amazing community I have created and all the love and support I always receive-

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
That the death of my mother drastically changed my life and my way of thinking. It is a before and after. In addition, I am a very mystical and sensitive person, I believe in angels, the signs of the universe, multiple lives, and much more-
