Rising Stars: Meet Kristy of Miami / South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristy.

Hi Kristy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Four years ago, I moved from Arizona to South Florida with my three kids, ready to start over and build a new life. I began working in the serving industry, but deep down, I knew I was meant for something more meaningful, something where I could truly impact others.

That’s when I discovered paramedical tattooing, and I truly believe God led me to it. It immediately spoke to me. As someone who naturally loves helping people, I was drawn to giving others the chance to heal, feel confident, and start a new chapter in their own stories.

I completed my training and have now been a paramedical tattoo artist for a year. The joy and fulfillment I get from this work is indescribable. Helping someone feel comfortable in their skin again is what drives me every day.

Starting my own business while raising my two daughters and my son hasn’t been easy, but it’s been incredibly empowering. More than anything, I want to be a role model for them—to show them that they can do anything they set their hearts and minds to. With faith in God, determination, and resilience, anything is possible.

I’m proud to be building something of my own—creating new beginnings not just for others, but for myself and my children as well.

I didn’t just change my life—I built a purpose, and now I help others rewrite their stories too.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Trying to open a business while raising a family comes with a constant emotional and financial balancing act that most people don’t see. You’re wearing every hat at once—parent, provider, business owner, server working evenings—trying to keep everything afloat while still showing up fully for the people who depend on you most.

There are days where the pressure feels heavy, especially financially, when you’re not sure how studio rent will be covered or when the next client will come in. But you still keep going, planning, marketing, showing up, and doing the work behind the scenes even when results aren’t immediate.

And in the middle of all that uncertainty, you’re still trying to protect family time and stay present for your children, even if it means sacrificing rest. It’s exhausting, but there’s also this quiet resilience—holding onto hope, trusting your vision, and believing that all the effort, long nights, and uncertainty are leading somewhere better.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in paramedical tattooing, which is a form of advanced skin artistry that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and skin discoloration by blending them more naturally into the surrounding skin tone. In simple terms, I use custom pigments and precise techniques to help restore confidence in areas where the skin has changed due to life experiences, surgery, or body changes.

What I’m most proud of is the emotional healing that comes with this work. Many of my clients come in feeling insecure, self-conscious, or even discouraged from trying so many things that didn’t work for them before. Being able to help them feel seen, understood, and comfortable in their own skin again is something I don’t take lightly. It’s powerful to witness someone slowly regain confidence and start feeling like themselves again after struggling for so long.

What sets my business apart is my specialized approach, especially with Brazilian stretch mark tattooing. Brazilian ink techniques are more advanced and artistic compared to standard stretch mark or scar camouflage. Instead of simply masking the area, it focuses on detailed color layering and skin-tone matching to create a more realistic, blended finish. This technique is more refined and often produces a more natural-looking result, especially on textured or heavily pigmented stretch marks.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is helping people feel confident and whole in their own skin. Through my work in paramedical tattooing, I get to be part of someone’s healing journey—whether it’s restoring the appearance of stretch marks, scars, or helping someone let go of something tied to their past.

I’ve learned that this work goes far beyond skin. It’s about self-image, emotional healing, and confidence. Every client who leaves my chair feeling more like themselves again reminds me why I started.

Just as important to me is the impact this has on my children. Being a mother, I want to lead by example and show them what it means to follow your purpose, work hard, and help others. I want them to see that they can build something meaningful with faith, resilience, and passion, and that they can overcome challenges while still creating a life that matters.

My business isn’t just about results—it’s about impact, for my clients and for my family. What matters most to me is that people feel seen, supported, and empowered, because when confidence is restored, it can truly change everything.
