Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Culpepper
Hi Kimberly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am the founder of The Experience Foundation. Our mission is deeply personal and rooted in a journey through profound loss and faith. My husband, NFL quarterback Daunte Culpepper, and I share a love for our family of six children. Following the tragic loss of our daughter Aysia and a friend of hers in a car accident in 2020, I embarked on a personal journey of overcoming grief and navigating life to find peace with what happened. This experience has driven my dedication to supporting women who face the complexities of life’s challenges, including the mental health of women.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve faced many challenges on this journey, but one thing became clear: I had to trust God with my grief. I made a conscious decision to trust Him with my healing, my family, and everyone around me. In return, God granted me peace that surpasses all understanding, just as His Word promises. When I drifted away, I felt the weight of unbearable pain, but the moment I clung to Him and His Word, peace and joy filled my heart again. That strength allowed me to be fully present for my husband and children, meeting their needs while navigating my own grief.
Out of that trust, my cousin and I began a Prayerline on Zoom, which started with just family members but quickly grew. Friends invited friends, and even strangers joined, drawn to this community of women who lead with love and live by biblical principles. We’ve now been on this mission for four years, and while we’ve lost a few women to cancer, we celebrate their lives because they chose to forgive, let go, and live in gratitude. Some have left due to the accountability we hold each other to, but we continue to press forward. God is calling us to change the narrative—women united for the greater good of our families and communities.
The scripture that has anchored me through this is Philippians 4:7: “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This peace has been my foundation, guiding me as I serve and lead.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
The Experience Foundation is a non profit organization that offers a range of services dedicated to supporting women and young girl’s mental health and emotional well- being. Through our retreats, workshops, and therapy sessions, we provide opportunities for women to engage in healing practices, build community, and develop coping strategies. Our offerings include a focus on grief support, stress management, and overcoming life’s challenges.
We are known for our 6 AM prayer calls twice a week, as well as our healing retreats. These moments provide women with the space to step away from daily life, find rest, and start or continue their healing process. In addition to that, we have a group for young girls where they are mentored by older women, creating a bond that reminds us no one has to journey through life alone. Every woman who comes through has an “Experience” that shifts the direction of her life—this is the heart behind our name.
What fills me with the most pride is witnessing the breakthroughs in these women’s lives. Seeing them unlearn old patterns, shift their mindset, and embrace a new way of living is nothing short of remarkable.
I also recognize that we’re not alone in this work. Many organizations are doing incredible things for the community, and our mission is to partner with those who are also striving to create lasting change for a better future. Together, we can make a powerful impact.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is how my dad, Jesse, and my mom, Jo, showed love not just to our family but to the whole community. Our home was always open to anyone facing hard times and needing a temporary place to stay, and it became a safe, welcoming space for so many.
Even my brother Tyrone, my sister Courtney, and I had friends live with us at different times, which made our house so lively and fun! Looking back, I realize how much it must have meant to those friends to be embraced by a family with open arms. It’s incredible how something as simple as opening your home can ease someone’s burden and bring them comfort.
This childhood experience, along with the heartbreaking passing of my daughter Aysia, has shaped me in profound ways. The love and support I grew up with and the pain of Aysia’s passing are at the heart of The Experience Foundation. Our mission is to provide that same sense of belonging and support to women who are facing life’s challenges, so they know they don’t have to walk through them alone.
