Hi Keren, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was a little girl, I discovered a passion for creating art. I was always drawn to colors, textures, and anything that allowed me to express myself creatively. I knew early on that I wanted a career where I could bring that creativity to life. Right after graduating high school, I went straight into beauty school. Not long after, I started working at Sephora, where I stayed for two years. It was a great learning experience, but I quickly realized retail wasn’t for me. I needed more freedom to create and connect with clients on a deeper level , so I took a leap of faith and became a self-employed makeup artist and hair stylist.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been easy. Starting your own business , especially in such a competitive industry , comes with a lot of pressure and self-doubt. There were moments I questioned everything. But I’ve learned that growth comes through challenges, and every setback pushed me to get better, smarter, and more resilient.Being a makeup artist also means wearing many hats , artist, business owner, marketer, content creator , Filling out Bridal Contract, scheduler, customer service… it can be a lot. But the reward of seeing a client light up when they see themselves in the mirror makes it all worth it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional makeup artist and hair stylist, and I specialize in bridal beauty. I work closely with brides and their wedding parties to create flawless, timeless looks that feel elegant, fresh, and most importantly true to who they are. I also take on special events, photoshoots, Beauty Pageants and creative projects.
What I’m most known for is my attention to detail, my calm presence, and the way I make my clients feel. Makeup is not just about technique , it’s about connection. I really take the time to listen to each client, understand their vision, and make them feel confident and beautiful from the inside out.
One of the things I’m most proud of is building my brand, KLo Beauty, from the ground up. It started with a passion and a few brushes, and now it’s a full-time business with brides trusting me on the most important day of their lives.
What sets me apart is the experience I create. I don’t just show up and do makeup . I bring good energy, professionalism, and reliability. My clients know they can count on me to show up early, stay calm under pressure, and make them feel absolutely beautiful. I truly care about each person I work with, and I think that makes all the difference.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I had a beautiful childhood. I was born in Cuba and spent my early years there, surrounded by family, music, and sunshine. Some of my favorite memories are the summers we spent at a beach house , those were magical times. The ocean has always felt like home to me. As a Cancer sign, I naturally feel very connected to water , it brings me a deep sense of peace and clarity.
