Rising Stars: Meet Joseph Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Garcia.

Hi Joseph, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I graduated from Belen Jesuit Prep. in 2016 and graduated from Florida State University in 2020. Once I graduated, the pandemic hit, and like many others, I did not know what the future would hold.

My father had been working for a roofing company for 15+ years and had aspirations to start his own company. In the Fall of 2021, I attained my roofing contractor’s license and opened JAG Roofing Solutions alongside my father.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I struggled early on with the number of responsibilities that come with being a business owner. There were many aspects of the roofing business that were foreign to me. Although there has been a massive learning curve there have not been many struggles that have hindered our success.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We mainly specialize in residential re-roofs in a wide array of systems that include standing seam metal, dimensional shingle, concrete and clay tile, Flat BUR, and silicone coating. I am most proud of my father who has done an exceptional job jumping into the unknown and leading fearlessly throughout this process. I believe our customer service and humility sets us apart from others.

We are invested in helping out our clients as much as possible and providing them with a product they can depend on. Dealing with the safety and well-being of homeowners is not a responsibility we take lightly. Furthermore, there are many people who need help from a contractor they can trust, and we pride ourselves on being exactly that.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Starting a family business was not something I had ever dreamt of but I am quickly realizing the importance of the business. Working with my father and being able to provide for my family has become one of the biggest blessings in my life. The name JAG Roofing comes from the initials of my father and my 3 brothers so I take great pride in doing quality work.

There are many responsibilities that come with being a business owner however I am grateful to be in the position I am in because it allows me to help others when they are in unpleasant situations. I played football all the way up until I graduated from Florida State and I find myself applying many of the values I learned playing the game to situations that arise while managing the business.
