Today we’d like to introduce you to Ishika Purpose.
Hi Ishika, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The Multi Award Winning Music extraordinaire Ms. Ishika
Purpose launched her first CD titled ” I Got a Purpose ” in
2013 and released her second CD ” Ishika Charles Project ” in
2015 both inTortola, British Virgin Islands. In June 2016 she was
placed in the Top Three in a Christian-based competition
” America’ Got Anointing “. She is now pursuing her vision to
become a ” Gospel Music Artiste & Producer “.In 2019 Ishika
brought out a single named “Follow Me”, Also she won three
awards, the “IGGA People’s Choice Award”, the “True
Worshipers Award” and the Music Love Awards Winner for
the “Contemporary Artist of The Year”. In 2020 she also
brought out another single entitled “You Are Great”, and she was
nominated/won the “International Artist of the Year” for the
Gospel Choice Awards. In 2021 Ishika was nominated for
the “Maranatha Awards” in the category of “Best Inspirational
Worship Leader” and placed first runner up. She studied
at Berklee College of Music where she obtained a certificate
in; Music Theory, Vocal Recording Technology, Music for
Wellness, Copyright Law in the Music Business and
Developing a Brand & Funding. She then continued her studies
at The University of Adelaide where she received a certificate
in Music Technology Foundation.
In 2022, she won best song of the year (Follow Me) and best
Caribbean/Gospel Reggae Artist.Fast forward to 2023, Ishika
released her brilliant single called Miracles after which she
was nominated for the Newsome Gospel Award In Baltimore,
Maryland where she won song of the year for the said single.
She also released her album called “Her Story” on August
12th and hosted her album release concert on August 25th.
This is a brief synopsis of what this phenomenal woman
entails.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has not been smooth.. Of course everyone has their struggles. Some of my struggles were Fear, Anxiety, Comparing myself to others..
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a gospel artist, worship leader, music producer, and ministry leader with a passion for helping people encounter God through worship and excellence in ministry. I currently serve as Assistant Minister of Music at Kingdom Builders Worship Center, where I help oversee worship planning, musician development, rehearsals, productions, and special events.
My specialty is bringing together music, ministry, and leadership. I am skilled in vocals, keyboard, bass, drums, music production, event coordination, and team development. I am known for my dedication, creativity, and ability to build and strengthen worship teams while maintaining a heart for serving God’s people.
One of the things I am most proud of is my journey as a single mother, artist, and ministry leader. Despite life’s challenges, I have continued to grow, pursue higher education in music and entertainment, develop my gifts, release music, and serve faithfully in ministry. I am especially proud of the impact I have made in helping worship teams and congregations create meaningful worship experiences that bring people closer to God.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine ministry, musicianship, leadership, and authenticity. I understand both the spiritual and practical sides of worship ministry. Whether I’m leading worship, producing music, organizing events, mentoring team members, or serving behind the scenes, I strive for excellence while keeping people and purpose at the center of everything I do.
My goal is simple: to use every gift God has given me to inspire, equip, and uplift others while creating opportunities for people to experience His presence through music.
