Today we’d like to introduce you to Indira De Leon.
Hi Indira, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
There’s so much to say and I feel like the small details are important in order to understand where my passion and drive come from. I was born in Cuba but I came to the USA when I was 10 years old. My family and I migrated looking for opportunities and freedom. I’m so grateful for all of my father’s sacrifices and efforts that were able to make that happen.
One thing I learned from him from the very start of my life was that hard work and dedication will always pay off. He taught me how to give my best in every little job or project I’d ever worked on. My family doesn’t come from any money or inheritances, my parents came here from Cuba and grabbed any job they could get from the get… both my mom and dad had multiple jobs at once at one point just to make ends meet and give me and my sister a decent life.
Growing up I always tried to earn my own money, I saw how hard my parents worked for it so I always wanted to be able to provide for myself to have the things I wanted. I remember helping my dad at work for a couple of dollars or landing my first job working at retail at 15 years old to save up for a car, or even after becoming a self-taught makeup artist and freelancing for weddings and events… that’s where my creative side started to come out more.
Around that time MySpace had just come out so I started tapping into more of the digital world and self-taught myself coding so I would create and sell MySpace layouts I remember I would design all of my friend’s MySpace pages with photos, music, and all hahaha it was so much fun and I loved doing it. I have done so many different types of jobs from retail working at the mall to waitressing at Applebees to getting licensed and becoming an insurance agent which was my very last 9-5 job before I became an entrepreneur.
I became pregnant with my first child at 19 back in 2012, that changed everything for me. My husband and I were so excited about our future and wanted to work super hard to raise our daughter the way she deserved so apart from our full time jobs we also started to make small investments, buy and re sale items, we also started various side businesses but I still had to hold on to my 9-5 it wasn’t until realized I could be doing so much more if I used my creativity & social media for marketing to make money!
I then started a network marketing social selling business, one I am very grateful for because it was the most influential piece of the puzzle that leads to where I am today. That business taught me so much about social media marketing, content creation, shooting content, and most of all selling using digital marketing as the number one tool.
This period of my life which lasted about 4 years was one where I grew so much as a person, I became the woman I needed to become in order to change my life and quit my 9-5. Countless books, seminars, personal growth summits, podcasts, and many more self-development tools later I became successful at that business and accomplished a lot, led a team of 1000+ women, and was able to change the quality of my life.
Later on, Luxe Branding Company was born, and finally, I had the opportunity to create something of my own. I had a beautiful vision… it was to be able to help others grow their businesses using social media through beautiful aesthetic content that was also effective in turning views into sales. Being a natural-born creative and also a salesperson was key in my success using the digital world to expand an online business so I wanted to help others do the same.
Here we are today, Luxe has been so successful within its 1st year we have been able to help over 200 small businesses in different ways with content creation, social media, and many other services. I was able to finally open my own creative studio alongside my best friend which was also a lifelong dream.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been so many obstacles along the way, so many times I felt like I would go backward instead of forward. I’ve struggled so much in the pursuit of freedom from sacrificing time with family in order to work on my business to struggling juggling finances to failing at other businesses and losing all my savings.
It’s never easy building something of your own but it’ll always be worth it. I know I still have so much more to grow!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve learned so much from many different mentors. I can say I’ve been the most influenced by people like Ed Mylet and John Maxwell.
