Rising Stars: Meet Hira Majeed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hira Majeed.

Hi Hira, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.

I am a young successful serial entrepreneur. I consider myself an ambivert, growing up I would mainly say I am more on the introverted side. As I would spend most of my free time reading and thinking of innovations to improve the world we live in today. Now I say I am more extroverted.

I graduated Highschool at the age of 16 and went right into college, I studied medicine and obtained a variety of degrees as a healthcare professional. Upon starting my position as a new health care professional. I realized the need for clinical improvement and clinical innovations to provide the best preventative/overall care to every patient a healthcare professional will cross paths with. After time and experience, I started spending my free time studying several medical softwares that are used in healthcare settings nationwide and in addition, I started conducting meetings with analyst EMR facilitators, and the IT team to learn and obtain more skills. I spent my days off researching and studying coding and aco measures.

After some time, there was a day when something just clicked and I was eager to try it. I went into work early the next day, prior to clinic starting.

I started creating and coding an audit software within a medical software. I had full faith it would work regardless that I did not have an actual education in tech or coding. After about an hour, the system I created was finally ready to run.

Once I clicked the run button on the computer screen, it seemed as if I could hear every beat in my heart. In just a few minutes the screen started generating clinical data on every employee, and the patients accessed within the medical software, I instantly started customizing the system by adding in filter options so it was able to generate audit report on certain preventative care measures based on employee name, provider, specialty and date range, etc.

Upon completion, I created a PowerPoint demonstration and upon approval from the Compliance officer, I was able to conduct audit reports and void out confidential information for the demonstration. The system was instantly approved to be used across every department of the organization and I was promoted and to take the lead and create the training curriculum and clinical innovations to start improving the data and the care we provide to our patients. After months the software showed increased revenue, improved the clinical workflow and patient care. At this point, I knew I was able to create something that helped provide certain services and care which long term would possibly prevent certain life-threatening conditions and could possibly provide substantial health to an individual, that is when I started focusing on getting the software I created to be used in every hospital/medical group across the nation, to be able to help more people all over the world.

In addition to the medical software I created, during the time of the pandemic, I saw from experience that several surgeries were getting canceled due to hospital and medical groups being overflowed with patients and patients not being able to get the Covid test they needed to proceed with surgery.

It instantly clicked that I had to create a clinical resource to be able to offer patients this service, to be able to proceed with surgery and day-to-day activities safely. At that point, I did collaborate with a few individuals and started running multiple covid testing sites, I did let the surgical and admin side of the organizations I was employed for know prior to ensure it would not be a conflict of interest and so it could be used as a source to refer the patients to, so they are able to proceed with surgeries and it also benefited hospital/medical groups as they would not have to be bombarded with patients for Covid testing and could be open to provide the care to those in need.

It has been a long journey and at times, I had no idea or direction if I was in the right path, I would question why I went through certain experiences and what was my actual purpose. I can honestly say if you do not ever give up and have full faith in yourself and God, you are able to do more than what your mind can imagine. It is never too late to start and there is always room to grow and build our society in a better place every day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

It has not been a smooth road, I can say that for sure. Some of the struggles I faced was the endless time I spent alone away from family and friends to research, study, learn and grow into the person I am becoming and to create the clinical innovations I did.

Another struggle I faced was the dishonesty, jealousy, and betrayal I faced from other individuals in the process of creating and presenting the clinical innovations.

One thing I learned is no matter what anyone does to you or says, do not ever give up. If you only knew the power of the mind, you would know that anything you have full faith in, can and will become your reality.

How do you define success?
I define success as being someone who is able to help others fulfill their potential as well as my own. God created each one of us for a reason with a purpose and I believe we truly feel we are successful when we can reach that goal/purpose.
