Today we’d like to introduce you to Genesis Perez
Hi Genesis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi! I’m Genesis Perez, founder and owner of Luxury Charcuterie Miami. What began as a personal hobby and passion 2 years ago has blossomed into an incredible business with YET so much potential to grow and expand.. I am truly excited for what’s to come this 2025!
I’m in a phase in my life where I’m juggling more than what feels possible in 24 hours. When I decided to start my own business, my thought process was deeply influenced by a mix of personal experiences, challenges, and a profound realization of what truly mattered to me. My journey has been defined by faith, commitment, resilience, and a true passion for food and the art you can make out of it. I saw an opportunity to create something that not only aligned with my professional skills, roots and passions but also something I can build and call my own. The idea of being my own boss was appealing not just for the autonomy it promised but also for the potential to shape a business that reflected my newfound understanding of success.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Far from it. Yet, every obstacle has served as a vital lesson in growth, patience, and perseverance. My commitment to showing up, no matter what. Whether it’s a bad day, an overwhelming schedule, or a low mood, I ALWAYS make the effort to show up. Consistency and resilience is something I strive to embody daily.
One of the defining challenges, which I now recognize as a profound blessing, has been the personal development, dedication, and sacrifices needed to balance my roles as an entrepreneur, wife, mother, and individual. Early on, I doubted my abilities and thought I wasn’t capable enough to fulfill the big dreams I have. These struggles led me to realize that my personal evolution was crucial for effectively leading a fruitful business. Every setback has been a chance to learn, adapt, and evolve. I have learned the critical importance of patience and bouncing back no matter how many times you may fall.
I don’t think any small business owner can honestly say growing a business is smooth.. it has taken me a lot of sleepless nights, juggling of a full time job while chasing my dream, being my own social media manager, work without pay to spread the word about my business, and not being phased by “competition”.
For me there’s no such thing as competition, the people at the top are collaborating not competing. If there’s one thing I can say I’ve learned from all this is that, you have to “fly like a butterfly, and sting like a bee”. You have to persevere and have the guts to go after your wildest dreams, without paying attention to what’s going on around you. It’s just you and YOUR craft, you and your art.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As I like to say it, I am a Charcuterie Artist! I elevate events with beautifully crafted charcuterie, showcasing an exquisite selection of premium cheeses and artisan meats from around the world. I specialize in crafting artful, tasteful works that are also edible!
What sets me apart from others? I would say the love and detail I put into everything I do. Any time I work on an event or even a charcuterie box or board I envision it is for myself or a loved one I am doing this for. As I’ve said before this is my craft, my art.. I take great pride in what I do. Then again, why do it if it’s not with love?
My business name has the word “Luxury” for a reason. I guarantee to pour luxury and savoriness into any occasion. Every one of my boards is meant to be a luxurious experience you can savor and remember.
I am especially proud of the way others express themselves about my boards. The fact that they were able to create memories while putting something into their bodies that I made with much love, dedication, and effort. I’m a firm believer that food is nourishment, and what goes into our bodies is sacred. Our bodies are temples and we must only treat them as such, letting our food be love and health. I believe this what I bring to life with my work.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy? My kids. My two boys are my driving force, my purpose, and my fuel. My reason for wanting more in life and not stopping until I achieve it. THEY are my why.
