Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Naples, Italy and moved to the US with my husband in 1993. I was a graphics arts major in college. I have worked in culinary arts for over 30 years. I only baked cakes for my family until 2018 when I made a birthday cake for my co-worker who was so impressed, she said I should sell my cakes. I decided to open a cottage bakery to make extra money. Since then, we have received five star reviews galore and I am constantly improving my artistic abilities.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When you make custom cakes, we never know what designs customers will request and we struggle very hard to estimate the amount of time some cakes will require. This causes occasional sleepless nights and miscalculated prices.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a cake artisan and specialize in designing and decorating cakes made fresh from scratch using only the finest ingredients. Most of my competitors make cakes from box mixes and factory made frostings.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the climate, the ocean, the international cuisine, and the party atmosphere.
