Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesca Perini.
Hi Francesca, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Bologna, Italy and I am EXTREMELY proud of my heritage and my culture. I played sports my whole life at all kinds of competitive levels, but golf was definitely the sport that opened all doors for me. I started playing at 8 years old, I was on the Italian National Team by 13, and I when I graduated from high school I was offered a scholarship at Barry University in Miami Shores. Accepting that was both the easiest and hardest decision I ever had to make, because following my dreams would actually mean leaving everything and everyone behind. On August 20, 2011 (yes, I still remember!) I moved to Miami with two overweight luggages and never looked back.
I graduated with a Finance Bachelor in 2015 and proceeded to earn an MBA and a Master in Sports Management in 2018. Never in my life had I dreamed about being a business owner or doing something so creative. I had always admired social media from the very beginning, but solely from a user’s perspective. Myspace, Facebook, BBM… You name it, I had it! While I was attending grad school, I really saw the shift that this new media took and how it was evolving into a massive marketing opportunity for businesses. Out of everything I had ever learned in SO MANY years in school, this topic was really the only one that stuck with me, so I decided to trust my gut and see where it could take me.
I incorporated my business on March 1, 2019 as a “test,” hoping to possibly land a few clients as a side gig while working a full time job. Client after client, referral after referral, I realized that I was growing consistently and that I could really “go for it.” So I did! I chose an official name, built a website, and opened new social media accounts – all in the spam of 24 hours. And on January 1, 2020 Stellar Media Agency was born!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
If an entrepreneur tells you that building a business is easy, s/he’s lying! The road is never smooth and it’s full of ups & downs, but that certainly builds your character. I truly believe that without the lowest lows you cannot enjoy the highest highs, so it’s pointless to stress too much about what you can’t control. Anytime I’m having a bad day I think about all the previous bad days I had, and how all the previous issues had passed. So there’s a 100% chance that whatever I am going through that specific day will also pass, and I will probably laugh about it in a week or so!
Entrepreneurs are so laser-focused on success that very often they forget to actually enjoy the process. I promised myself that I would continue doing this only if I truly enjoyed it… And I am very lucky to say that I love every part of it. I think of our clients 24/7 and always have to write down the hundreds of ideas I get every day. They trust us with their businesses, and I feel very honored and compelled to deliver the highest quality, always.

What makes you happy?
Being happy makes me the happiest. I truly value my happiness and protect it at all costs. Whether that is setting proper boundaries with clients, declining opportunities that don’t feel right, or saying NO when it’s needed (even if it’s not wanted by other party). I am not afraid of putting my foot down if it comes to protecting myself, my heart, and my mental health.
In terms of what makes my heart REALLY happy, I absolutely adore my family, my friends, and my dog Jordan – so anything that involves them it’s already a win in my book. Whether that is traveling the world, drinking really good cocktails, or singing at the top of our lungs… There’s 100% chance I will be the person laughing the most in that room!
