Rising Stars: Meet Fanord Ralph Eliodor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fanord Ralph Eliodor.

Hi Fanord Ralph, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is one of resilience, service, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Growing up in Haiti, I witnessed both the challenges people face and the strength that communities can demonstrate when they come together. Those experiences inspired me to pursue leadership and seek ways to create meaningful impact.

In 2020, I began studying law at the University École des Droits et des Sciences Économiques des Gonaïves. My legal studies strengthened my understanding of justice, advocacy, and the importance of empowering individuals through knowledge. During this time, I also served as a teacher at Frère Hervé Congregational School, where I had the opportunity to mentor and educate young students. Teaching reinforced my belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives.

Beyond the classroom, I have always been passionate about leadership and community development. In 2023, I founded Youth Christian Leaders, an organization dedicated to helping young people grow through leadership, faith, and personal development. Through this initiative, I have worked to encourage youth to become active contributors in their communities and pursue their goals with confidence.

My professional journey also includes working with Making Opportunity Count (MOC), where I gained valuable experience and earned certification in Conflict Management. I have continued to invest in my professional growth through training in leadership, negotiation, and digital marketing. One of the highlights of my educational journey was earning a certificate in Principles of Foundational Leadership from Harvard University, an experience that further strengthened my leadership philosophy and commitment to service. Another highlight of my educational journey is receiving a scholarship from the UPEACE Centre for Executive Education to pursue a diploma in Social Innovation. This diploma will allow me to apply innovation in my career path beyond my organization.

Today, I serve as a Project Manager for Haitian American Student Corporation (HASC), where I help develop and manage initiatives that support communities and create opportunities for positive change. One of the projects I am particularly proud of involves helping coordinate community-focused initiatives that bring meaningful resources and support to people in Haiti.

Along the way, I have been honored to receive recognition as an influential young leader and to have my work featured in several publications. Looking back, every experience from teaching and studying law to leading organizations and managing projects has shaped my mission: to empower others, create opportunities, and contribute to lasting social impact both in Haiti and beyond.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a completely smooth road. Like many young leaders, I have faced challenges that tested my resilience and determination. Growing up in Haiti, I experienced firsthand the difficulties that come with limited resources, economic instability, and the uncertainty that many young people face while trying to build a future. Balancing my legal studies, professional responsibilities, and community work has often required significant sacrifices and discipline.

One of the biggest challenges has been pursuing multiple goals at the same time while maintaining a commitment to excellence. Whether it was teaching at Frère Hervé Congregational School, working with Making Opportunity Count (MOC), leading Youth Christian Leaders, or managing projects with HASC, there were moments when the workload felt overwhelming. There were also times when opportunities seemed out of reach due to financial limitations or lack of access to resources.

However, those challenges became some of my greatest lessons. They taught me perseverance, adaptability, and the importance of continuous learning. Instead of allowing obstacles to discourage me, I chose to view them as opportunities for growth. Each setback strengthened my resolve and helped shape the leader I am today. Looking back, I believe the struggles were not barriers to success they were part of the process that prepared me for it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is rooted in one mission: empowering young people and transforming ideas into real, sustainable community impact. I focus on youth leadership development, education, and community-driven projects, especially in underserved communities where access to opportunities is often limited.

Currently, I serve as a Project Manager with the Haitian American Student Corporation (Haitian American Student Corporation), where I lead and support initiatives that directly engage students and communities. Through this work, I have helped strengthen the connection between young people in Haiti and access to resources and opportunities that allow their community projects to move from ideas into action. In many ways, my role has contributed to building a pathway that helps youth bring their visions to life through structured support and collaboration.

I am also the founder of Youth Christian Leaders, an initiative dedicated to mentoring and equipping young people with leadership skills, discipline, and purpose. My goal has always been to help youth not only dream, but also develop the mindset and tools needed to execute those dreams effectively.

Previously, I worked with Making Opportunity Count (Making Opportunity Count), where I gained hands-on experience in conflict management and community support. That experience strengthened my ability to work with people from different backgrounds and navigate real-world challenges in service delivery and leadership.

What I am most proud of is the consistency of impact across everything I do whether teaching at Frère Hervé Congregational School, building youth initiatives, or managing community projects. Each step has been connected by a single purpose: to serve, to lead, and to create opportunity where it is often missing.

What sets me apart is not only my leadership experience, but my ability to turn vision into execution. I am intentional about building systems, not just ideas ensuring that projects are structured, sustainable, and truly beneficial to the people they are designed to serve.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that consistency matters more than speed. Early in my journey, I thought impact had to come quickly and in big ways. But over time, I realized that real leadership is built through patience, discipline, and showing up even when progress feels slow.

I’ve also learned that purpose becomes clearer through challenges. Working across education, community projects, and youth leadership whether as a teacher, through my work with Making Opportunity Count (Making Opportunity Count), or in my current role with the Haitian American Student Corporation (Haitian American Student Corporation) I’ve faced moments of limitation, uncertainty, and responsibility that stretched me. But each challenge helped refine my vision and strengthen my commitment.

Today, I understand that leadership is not about titles or recognition it’s about service, responsibility, and the ability to stay committed to people and purpose over time.
