Today we’d like to introduce you to Elton Baptiste.
Hi Elton, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey started with music. I’ve always been drawn to creating, experimenting with sounds, and finding ways to turn ideas in my head into something people can actually hear and feel. Over time, that passion grew into producing and mixing my own music, particularly in the lo-fi and cinematic/ambient space.
As I became more involved in music, I naturally became interested in the technology and production behind it. That eventually led me into audio engineering, video production, live streaming, and live event production. A lot of those skills came from working in church production, where I learned how to manage everything from sound and cameras to live broadcasts and large scale events.
Today, I’m continuing to build my career in AV and production while still pursuing music as an artist and producer. For me, music is still at the center of everything I’m always looking for new ways to create, learn, and turn my ideas into something meaningful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been trying to build a career in a creative field while also figuring out what direction I wanted to take. There were times when I questioned whether music could really become something bigger for me, especially when growth felt slow or opportunities didn’t come as quickly as I hoped.
I’ve also had to learn a lot on my own, like producing, mixing, learning new technology, and developing my skills in audio and live production. There have been plenty of mistakes and moments where I felt like I was starting over, but each one taught me something.
I think those challenges have actually made me more persistent. I’ve learned that progress doesn’t always happen quickly, but continuing to create, learn, and put yourself out there eventually opens new doors.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an artist and producer, I specialize in lo-fi, cinematic, and ambient music focused on atmosphere and emotion. I enjoy creating music that allows people to feel something, whether they’re actively listening or simply letting it play in the background.
I’m also heavily involved in the production and technical side of music, including producing and mixing my own work. I’m most proud of developing my own sound while continuing to grow as an independent artist. What sets me apart is my willingness to experiment, learn, and keep evolving creatively.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me through music collaborations, production, and creative projects. I’m always open to connecting with other artists, producers, and creatives who want to build something together.
The best way to support me is simply by listening to my music, sharing it with others, and following along with what I’m creating. Every bit of support helps me continue growing as an independent artist.
