Rising Stars: Meet Dragana Stojanovic of Miami Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dragana Stojanovic.

Hi Dragana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After finishing my Masters in Interior Architecture from FIU, I started working full time for Michael Wolk Design in Miami, which got me exposed to all aspects of Architecture and interior design. I got a chance to work on some of the most prestigious commercial projects in Florida, as well as super high-end residential ones. After 9 years, I became pregnant and decided to open up my own company, 1883 Studio Inc. My project vary from small quick beautification turn-key, to full gut renovations, as well as art curating only. No project is too small or too big.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth road, ha?! Not at all… I don’t think it’s easy for anyone in this business. Some of the struggles are how to get quality clients, client’s not understanding of the design process and time line and budget constraints.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work is pretty much tailored towrad client’s desires. As long as I am not designing nothing traditional or classical, I am a 100% in. Some of my favorite styles are industrial, contemporary, Japandi and minimalistic. I love using micro-cement in my projects, a specially on all three planes- ceilings, walls and floors.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
My vision for interior design is very broad and I rarely see anyone as a competitor, but more of an collaborator, a potential new discovery in design process. Maybe through commissioned art, maybe through installation or maybe just as an inspiration..
