Rising Stars: Meet Dianexis Perez

Hi Dianexis, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in Puerto Rico and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications. My passion as always been working as a model. I had the opportunity to model for many designers, participate in beauty pageants and worked in many commercial campaigns as a model in my hometown. I was awarded most photogenic and best modeling on the catwalk. I also studied acting and got to perform in the series HBO’s Ballers.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have encountered some challenges in reaching my goals. Modeling is very competitive, but I have always stayed focused. It took me years of practice and determination to get to accomplish my goals. Thanks to my parents, who made the decision in signing me up for my first modeling class and opening the doors to this industry. My parents and grandmother have always supported me on my career and goals. The entertainment industry has many challenges and envious people and being a humble person, it can get very frustrating running into these types of souls. I continue to focus on what makes me happy and enjoy my life to the fullest.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work training girls for fashion shows including etiquette and refinement. I enjoy my work because I can provide support and inspire young women to stay positive and love themselves. I have the expertise to prepare aspiring models the necessary tools to participate in signature events and commercials. I distinguish myself a lot for my great attitude to any situation. I always look ahead.

What were you like growing up?
I was always a bit shy but focused on what I loved to do. I was always smiling and friendly towards anyone who wanted to say hello.  My mother always saw the successful entrepreneur and good communicator.
