Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Vich.
Hi Diane, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey in healthcare nearly 20 years ago as a pediatric emergency room nurse, driven by a deep desire to serve marginalized communities. That passion was sparked even earlier—during a high school mission trip to the Dominican Republic, where I provided care to families in remote mountain villages. That experience lit a fire in me to lead with compassion and purpose.
Over the years, I’ve expanded my role far beyond bedside care. I’ve become an advocate, educator, holistic health coach, and nonprofit leader. As Vice President of a nonprofit supporting families of children with special needs, I design workshops that blend traditional and alternative healing, offer mindfulness resources, and provide therapy referrals. I even created a bilingual somatic stress relief app to make healing tools more accessible.
In my role as an Associate Professor, I teach community health nursing with a focus on cultural humility, emotional intelligence, and equity. I mentor students to see themselves not just as clinicians, but as changemakers. I believe service is a moral and professional obligation, and I live that belief through volunteer work, mentorship, and community engagement.
Through all these efforts—whether in the ER, the classroom, or the community. I have stayed rooted in the belief that nurses change the world through service. My journey has been about answering that call, leading with heart, and helping others find healing through purpose, love and kindness.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. My journey has been shaped by deep personal challenges—mental health struggles, childhood trauma, and chronic illness. And as expected, they impacted every part of my life: my career, relationships, and aspirations.
A few years into my work as a Pediatric Emergency Nurse, my health began to deteriorate. I developed chronic fatigue, pain, severe IBS, and other medical conditions. At the same time, I was raising two young boys, which made it clear that I needed to pivot toward a healthier, more sustainable way of living. At the time my physician told me, if you don’t leave your job you are going to die. I loved my career and I had just arrived, so I knew it was time to find a way to heal at a deeper level and fast. Very quickly, I found a daily 15 minute practice that gave me mental clarity, energy, a sense of control, internal calmness and reduced my pain and physical symptoms. Slowly amidst the chaos this little daily practice gave me space to allow my body to heal. This began my journey taking healing from conventional medicine into alternative realms for true meaningful improvement.
That turning point led me into a healing journey that spanned over 16 years. I’ve explored a wide range of modalities—exercise, breathwork, nutrition, alternative therapies, talk therapy, EMDR, tantra, hypnosis, and meditation. Each layer of healing helped me peel back the stress, fears, and limitations that were holding me back.
One of the most transformative moments came when I faced my childhood trauma through hypnosis. That experience helped me reclaim my power and shift from victimhood to resilience. It also inspired me to write and publish several books, each one helping me find my voice and share my story with the world.
Throughout this journey, I’ve remained committed to education. I earned a Master’s in Nursing Education and have been a Nursing Professor for 14 years. I use my story to teach students about the deep connection between physical and mental health, and I emphasize the importance of emotional intelligence, mental wellbeing and self-awareness in healthcare.
Mental health is a top priority for me—not just personally, but professionally. As a hypnotist and health coach, I help others transform trauma through self-love, forgiveness, and mindset work. I even created a self-love and somatic stress relief app to offer hope and healing to others.
Now, as I pursue my Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees, I’m focused on shifting my purpose to advocate for mental health and preventative care at a national level. I know this journey will not only shape the future for my children but also contribute to a healthier, more compassionate society for future generations.
The one thing that got me through all the obstacles which were all opportunities for growth and expansion was my daily 15 minute practice. Each day I was grateful for those moments of mental clarity, energy, control, and calm. And over the years, the simple self loving practice I now call “Golden Reset” became so powerful that my clients, started tossing their Ativan, and using it twice a day instead. They say, “It helps them calm their anxiety, feel like themselves, restore their energy and so much more…”
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialized in pediatric emergency nursing, nursing education, hypnosis, holistic health coaching, and trauma-informed care. My work integrates traditional clinical expertise with alternative healing practices such as breathwork, hypnosis, reiki, yoga, and mindfulness. I also focus on supporting grieving clients and those navigating trauma, chronic illness, and emotional distress by offering nervous system regulation techniques that promote resilience, healing, and self-compassion.
I’m most proud of my healing journey and how I’ve turned personal pain into purpose. Facing childhood trauma and chronic illness led me to explore deep emotional healing, which I now share with others through education, coaching, and community work. I’ve published books, created a bilingual self-love and somatic stress relief app, and developed self-care gift boxes and practices to support clients and individual facing difficult challenges, like the sudden death of a spouse. These offerings are designed to bring comfort, hope, and healing to those who need it most.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend emotional healing with clinical care in a way that’s deeply personal and transformative. I don’t just teach or treat the patient. I connect, empower, and guide people through their healing journey to learn to listen to their bodies and heal themselves. My lived experience gives me a unique lens through which I support others, especially those facing grief, trauma, and chronic stress. I lead with compassion, teach with vulnerability, and serve with purpose. My work is rooted in the belief that healing is layered, and I walk that path alongside those I serve.
What’s next?
My future plans are rooted in expanding healing, advocacy, and education. I’m currently pursuing my Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees to deepen my clinical expertise and broaden my impact in mental health and preventative care. I want to be a voice for change—researching, advocating, and implementing holistic, trauma-informed approaches that support both physical and emotional well-being.
One of my biggest goals is to continue supporting grieving clients and those navigating trauma through accessible, compassionate tools. I’ve developed a bilingual self-care hypnosis app, *Orgazmik Healing*, which offers free guided meditations, mindfulness practices, and nervous system regulation tools to help users cultivate resilience, inner calm, and emotional, mental and physical healing. I also plan to expand my self-care gift box initiative—curated with healing practices, creative projects, affirmations, and mindfulness tools—to bring comfort and empowerment to those in grief or emotional distress by making a bigger impact.
In education, I’ll continue mentoring nursing students and teaching community health and health assessment with a focus on cultural humility, emotional intelligence, mental health awareness and service leadership. I want to inspire future nurses to lead with compassion and see themselves as healers beyond the bedside.
Ultimately, my vision is to create a ripple effect—empowering individuals to heal, grow, and serve others. Whether through coaching, teaching, or advocacy, I’m committed to building a future where self-love, emotional wellness, and holistic care are central to healthcare and community support available to everyone.
