Today, we’d like to introduce you to Diana Montes de Oca Aleman.
Hi Diana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Diana Montes de Oca Aleman. I am 25 years old, and I am an Eyebrows Artist. I’m Cuban, and I arrived in the United States in 2019. I studied music for 7 years, and I am also a graduate of Plastic Arts from the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in La Habana. It’s been five years since I discovered my passion for eyebrows and started making them in Cuba in a self-taught way, watching thousands of videos on the internet.
When I arrived in this country, I really wanted to get into the world of Aesthetics and improve myself, so I began to pass several courses such as eyebrow design with tweezers and wax, eyebrow design with henna, Microblading, Powder Brows, Hybrid Brows, Lip Blush and even eyelashes (although I don’t make eyelashes).
Then, I graduated from BoldBrows with PhiAcademy, a course that marked a before and after in my eyebrow work… I worked for two years in a Spa and two years ago I became independent and created my little space in the world of Diny Brows Studio, where today I dedicate myself to beautifying the brows of many clients who trust my hands and I am very grateful for that.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Obviously, it hasn’t been an easy road. Like every emigrant, starting from scratch in a completely new country is very hard, but the important thing is to never give up and fight for our dreams.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am dedicated to the beauty industry. I specialize in eyebrows, mainly in the microblading technique. Microblading is a form of semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo in which a unique pattern is designed that recreates the direction of the natural growth of the eyebrow, with the purpose of generating a natural look with more volume.
I feel that having studied drawing in art school for many years makes the difference in my work today, I always keep in mind what I have learned about Anatomy and proportion of the face in those art classes, achieving a much more real and natural result in the eyebrows of my clients. I am very proud to have my own eyebrow study in such a short time and to be able to dedicate myself to what I am really passionate about and that makes me happy.
How do you think about luck?
I don’t really believe in good or bad luck. I believe that if you work hard for your dreams, good luck will always be on your side.
