Rising Stars: Meet Diana Castro of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Castro.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
So… I went from saving up for my first camcorder at 16 to now filming content retreats in the mountains of Colombia. If you told teenage Diana that one day she’d be helping high-level entrepreneurs create a year’s worth of video content while sipping Colombian coffee, she probably would have asked what you were smoking.

I was actually born in Colombia, moved to Miami at 13 when my mom married a U.S. veteran, spent 30+ years building my life and business in the States… and now I’m back where it all started, but this time as an entrepreneur creating something completely new.

The journey has been an incredible adventure – like a rollercoaster ride where you’re terrified and exhilarated at the same time. Rodrigo and I started For Productions in 2011 after we both felt completely depleted and caged by the corporate world. We’d been dating for maybe 6-7 months (because apparently when you know, you know?), got married, and then took this massive leap of faith into entrepreneurship with just $4k in our pockets and our second child on the way. The universe clearly had bigger plans for us than we could see at the time.

Back then, we had no clue who our ideal client was – we just knew how to make videos and would take money from whoever would pay us. Fast forward through three daughters, countless late nights, and more pivots than a basketball player, and we’ve evolved into something I never could have imagined: a “hybrid visibility and lead attraction agency” that can meet people wherever they are in their video content journey.

Some clients just need clarity – so we do strategy sessions and hand them the roadmap. Others want to DIY but need guidance, so we become their fractional producers, giving them all the creative direction and they film with their phones. Some want virtual support – we’ll literally direct them via Zoom, help with ideation, planning, editing, the whole nine yards. And then there are the clients who just want to show up and be brilliant while we handle everything else – filming, editing, posting, even the marketing automation through systems like Go High Level.

But here’s what I’m most excited about: We’re now doing Video Content Retreats in both Miami (our home base) and Medellín. Think of it as a tax-deductible business trip that happens to solve your content problems for an entire year. Clients create 12 months of strategic video content in just a few days, all while experiencing incredible culture, amazing food, and that creative energy that only comes from stepping outside your usual environment.

It’s wild to think that what started as two film nerds with a camera has become this global operation where we’re helping purpose-driven leaders amplify their impact while raising three daughters who think it’s totally normal that mom and dad work from different countries sometimes.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth road? Ha! If entrepreneurship was a smooth road, everyone would be doing it. But here’s the raw truth (at least for me) – The early days were brutal. We’re talking $4k in our pockets, a baby on the way, and absolutely no clue how to “run” a business. I knew how to make videos, but invoicing? Cash flow? Sales funnels? I was learning all of that while trying to keep the lights on and diapers stocked. There were months where we worked non-stop for basically no pay, living off pure determination and probably too much coffee.

And here’s what nobody tells you about entrepreneurship – it’s like this twisted school of life where your limitations show up specifically to help you expand. What felt impossible five years ago might feel manageable now, but then the challenge just… mutates. Like a video game – a new level starts and the next challenge becomes, “how to lead a bigger team”, or “incorporate systems”, or “manage international operations”. Evolution and change are the name of the game.

Being a mom of three while building this has been its own adventure. I wanted to be present for my girls, to see them grow up without having to ask permission to attend their school performances. But I’ve also had to work through guilt about late nights, travel, and the constant mental load of running a business. Learning how to dance in the rain is part of the experience, and some days I nail it; other days… well, I don’t.

Here’s the thing, though – entrepreneurship takes a certain type of masochist. You have to be willing to get knocked down and get back up, over and over again. There’s no giving up option when you have a family depending on you and a mission that matters, one gets to figure it out…

that said, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This journey has shaped me into someone I actually like. I get to meet incredible humans, support missions that matter, and show my daughters what it looks like to bet on yourself even when it’s scary. The grit, resilience, and determination this life requires— It’s worth every sleepless night and every moment of doubt.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At a deeper level, we help build visibility and lead attraction systems using video, so brands shows up consistently and with sustainably all while building trust at scale, and staying top of mind for the right people. We help brands stop ghosting their audience and start showing up like the real-deal experts they are.

We create visibility and lead ecosystems – we specialize in turning scattered ideas into visibility.

Mostly – we support personal brands – people who are brilliant at what they do but either don’t have time to make VIDEO content, maybe they don’t know where to start, or are just tired of trying to “keep up” with a marketing.
Our ideal clients are looking for marketing systems that is built for leads beyond likes or subscribers.

Some people come to us for clarity—they know they need content, but they’re not sure what kind, or what to say, or where to post. We walk them through it step-by-step.

Others are ready to hand us the reins—we plan, film, edit, and even publish everything for them. And some just want to DIY with better guidance, and we support them there too.

We’re best known for our Video Content Retreats—Miami or Medellín.

And personally? I’m most proud of how we make people feel throughout the process—confident, clear, and creatively energized.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
You asked some really thoughtful questions—I feel like we covered a lot.

If I could add anything, it would be this: I invite you to show up in a way that feels aligned, sustainable, and powerful. Your mission deserves to be seen, and felt. As the raise of AI is up on us, we are looking for more human connections, and more human moments to relate, so show up imperfect, but show up.
