Today we’d like to introduce you to Dekel Quant.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my fitness journey when I was 14 years old, a few months after losing my mom to breast cancer. My brother and dad invited me to tag along to the gym with them and I’ve been hooked ever since. I credit fitness with getting me through the hardest time in my life and as I continued to progress over the years, people began asking me to help them on their fitness journeys.
This grew into hosting boot camps on summer breaks from college, hosting workout classes while in college, getting my certification, and continuing to build my brand and business. I now am full-time in the fitness space and offer both in-person and online training services, I have a line of fitness merchandise and a YouTube channel, I am the co-founder of a new women’s athletic wear brand, Gym Skrt and I’m also an IFBB Pro Figure competitor.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s not been a smooth road. I had to learn a lot through trial and error and just figure things out as I went along, especially after going full-time in the fitness space.
Thankfully, when I met my husband, he gave me a lot of help with navigating the aspects of my business I was struggling with and to this day still does. I struggled a lot with self-doubt and fear of failure in the beginning but now I do feel like I am moving confidently and truly walking in my purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a fitness instructor and personality. I am known for being a personal trainer and fitness influencer. I help people look and feel amazing through fitness.
I am also a competitive professional bodybuilder and I am most proud of my ability to give a new perspective to the fitness space for women in the business of fitness and I’m proud of how I’ve been able to diversify my revenue streams in the space while staying true to what I enjoy doing and true to my values.
I think what sets me apart from others is that not only do I have a deep love and passion for fitness, but I am also very business-driven. I offer a level of professionalism that I know sets me apart, and I love continuing to learn more about both the fitness and business side of what I do.
Do you have any advice for those just starting?
My advice to those starting is to invest in yourself. Invest the time, energy, effort, and money to allow you access to the resources, information, and people you need to help you excel. This is what I wish I had done sooner.
