Rising Stars: Meet Cristian of Opalocka

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristian.

Hi Cristian , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started producing music at around 14 and quickly fell in love with the process. I studied producers and artists like Vinylz, Metro Boomin, Jon Bellion, Mike Dean, Skrillex, and many others I discovered along the way, and I dedicated myself to learning across all genres while practicing my craft.

In 2020, I began to take my artistry seriously, thanks to the encouragement of friends and business partners around me. Since then, I’ve been building my world and my own “empire.” Working alongside Mixedbyxb and Xponent Recording Studios, we’ve put in countless hours, brick by brick, collaborating with people like Alcover from A&X, Xhey, Nacho (from Chino y Nacho), Crazy Design, and also developing unique sounds with artists like Anmily, Wxlf, and Aklesso.

Today, my focus is on building a community of creatives who understand and value the power of the process. What I love most is those studio moments—meeting artists, creating together, and sometimes stumbling into something that turns into a hit. Now, everything I do is more faith-driven and purpose-driven, with a mission to help shift the sonics and standards of today’s music across genres.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been countless nights of strategizing, planning, and figuring things out—sometimes those plans worked, other times they failed. That’s just life. What really matters is how you pivot and keep moving with what you have.

I’ve had seasons where I had a lot and others where I felt like I had nothing, but through it all I’ve stayed persistent because of my love for the craft and the vision being built. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and I know I’m still not where I ultimately want to be. But with God first, guiding my steps, I believe we’ll get there. This is a long drive, and I’m committed to seeing it through.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a music producer and artist, and my work blends genres like Hip Hop, Pop, Trap, Latin, and even cinematic elements. I love storytelling through sound, creating music that’s both emotional and innovative. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to collaborate with artists like Wxlf, Aklesso, Anmily, Xhey, and even people like Alcover from A&X and Nacho from Chino y Nacho. One of my proudest moments was landing a sync placement with Netflix, because it showed me that the music we make in a small studio can reach people worldwide.

What sets me apart is that I don’t box myself into one style. I’ve dedicated years to studying different genres and producers, so I can adapt and create something fresh no matter who I’m working with. But beyond the music itself, I’m most proud of building community—working with other creatives who share a love for the process and pushing each other to grow. For me, it’s more than just making a song, it’s about capturing moments, inspiring people, and raising the standard of what music can sound and feel like today.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I have so many memories that are special to me. I’ve always had a sharp memory. I can recall little details from moments as far back as when I was a kid. It’s definitely a blessing and a curse lol.

One that really stands out is when my family moved from the Dominican Republic to Florida in 2004. We stayed with some family friends in Weston, and their house felt like a mansion to me at the time. I remember walking through it and going upstairs, where I saw a door that I thought was just a closet. But when they opened it, it was a full-blown recording studio, not just a bedroom setup, but a real studio with a chill area, a mixer, and all the gear. I was only 4 years old, and my mind was blown. At that moment, I knew I wanted to learn whatever was happening in that room.

Another memory I’ll never forget is our family time during those early years. Every other night, my dad would cook domplines con salami guisado and we’d sit down as a family. My mom, dad, sister, and I. Afterward, we’d play a game of Dominican parcheesi. What made it so special was the fact that we cooked together, ate together, and then laughed together. That was top-tier quality time! Moments I’ll always carry with me.
