Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Fuentes.
Hi Cindy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Cindy Fuentes. I was born and raised into a musical family and began singing in my local church at the age of 2. My mother, Deily, was the person who inspired, encouraged, and pushed me the most to use the gift of singing. She would spend hours at the bookstore searching for music tracks that I could sing to every week, and when I turned 8 years of age she produced my first album!
I continued to sing at every church service and event that I was allowed in. I am proud to mention I won 1st place in every one of my middle and high school talent shows not to mention the $100 prizes that came very much in handy, but mainly, I am grateful to say that Church has always been the vehicle by which I’ve been able to share and grow in my musical career.
When I turned 21, I married the love of my life Dennis Fuentes and moved to the greatest city in the world aka Miami. Here, I began to work on original music while also singing at conferences, special events, and different churches around the USA. I’ve been blessed to meet incredible friends along the way who have supported and helped me, not only musically, but in life. I am walking in my purpose. I love being able to serve others through songs that bring healing, love, and peace.
Another one of my passions is teaching! I’m a kindergarten teacher at iPrep Academy and I’ve been lucky enough to integrate music in my teaching as well. Singing not only facilitates learning and promotes academic growth, but it allows us all (teacher & students) to express ourselves creatively. Music has brought so much light and life into our classroom.
So this is your reminder for today! Keep on going. Shine your light. Share your voice, and never stop believing in the calling God has placed in your heart!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Anything worthwhile is never easy and life is almost never a straight line from where you are to where you want to be. But the JOURNEY is always more enjoyable than the destination.
It is never an easy road uphill, but steady growth, hard work, a centered mind, a strong WHY, and faith in what your eyes can’t see will get you there.
One of my favorite verses says “Do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up” Galatians 6:9.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Christian singer and songwriter. Not only do I create music, but I also shoot, edit, and produce videos and social media content. I am most proud of not only being able to sing to audiences and create music but to have built incredible relationships along the way.
Healthy relationships with friends, family, and supporters are what truly give meaning to what you do. If you have healthy relationships you can say that you have been successful. You can live confident that you are impacting humanity not only with your gifts and talents but with your life.
