Rising Stars: Meet Brian Kamilar of Coconut Grove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Kamilar.

Hi Brian, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After studying business and marketing in college, I came back to Miami immediately to start working for Condo.com, an emerging property listings and research platform based in Coconut Grove. A few years in, the company started a brokerage. I got my license and began my realtor career under the Condo.com flag. Along the way, I took an interest to the ownership/management side of real estate. A portfolio of properties around the state later, I currently own and management my own portfolio, am a broker with US Condo Exchange LLC (formerly Condo.com) and a yacht broker for DQ Yachts.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Brokerage can certainly be a struggle. Winning clients and executing deals are not always the easiest and there can be periods where there are no deals on the desk. Property ownership can have all the headaches you hear about. Owning and managing properties around the state, I have all the stories you can imagine. Important is patience, and trying to keep one task in front of the other as you move along. Recently, I had one property nearly disappear from hurricane Helene, and of course the road back to rebuild will be a tumultuous one.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I wear a few hats, but all similar hats. First, I am a realtor for US Condo Exchange LLC (formerly Condo.com). I have been a realtor in South Florida for nearly 20 years. Being born and raised here as well, I have vast knowledge and experience of all things Miami. I am a real estate investor and manager. Having multiple assets around Florida, you get to see it all! Lastly, being an avid boater and competitive sailor, I took up yacht brokerage with one of my best childhood friends. Having spent so much time around boats and the water, the boat sale process is very similar to real estate and it was an easy transition to bring that hat into the forefront.

How do you define success?
Success, to me, is enjoying what you do day in and day out, and being able to have the time to pursue your passions and hobbies with friends and family. Hard work and success in your work and business should lead to time and ability to enjoy your passions, friends, and family.
