Rising Stars: Meet Brent Thibeaux

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brent Thibeaux.

Hi Brent, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I got started with the vision of Legacy Driven as a vision for a clothing line with a statement brand. I saw several small companies and was inspired. I decided to build my own company. I could not believe that no one had come up with the name or have Legacy Driven trademarked. I put together the company’s vision, applied for the trademark, and we were awarded our U.S trademark a few weeks later. Our company started small with only 3 Items on Shopify and we had to learn to strategize and build our brand. We now have a whole catalog of branded gear. Additionally, I started to connect with other business people through various mechanisms and built a network. After being in business about a year, we expanded to Toronto and started partnering with companies like Ebony Occasions, a greeting card company geared toward African American and Canadian Culture. We sponsored an Olympic trial athlete this past year. We have many companies in Dallas we have helped grow. We are truly thankful for our growth in an apparel competitive industry. I have always been passionate about entrepreneurship and this is only the beginning for Legacy Driven.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Building the company has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been finding the right type of distributor to design our gear and the uniforms for my clients. The other challenge has been building consistently. It’s tough to lose big contracts but it’s the nature of the business. Getting uniforms to prospectus customers requires expedited time frames in order to have a positive customer experience. Making sure the customer is happy is our number one priority.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Legacy Driven is a company that is continuously growing and innovating. I specialize in building out future clients. I am always thinking of ways to expand in different arena. I am most proud of getting the name for Legacy Driven trademarked. Legacy Driven is what I stand for and what I want to see others stand for. What sets us apart is that we have an original name and a message about changing the trajectory for future generations.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people don’t know I am an author in addition to being an entrepreneur. I self-published my first book, The Compass, in 2018. In addition to writing, I also love reading books and I have an extensive library. My favorite food is pizza. I have a passion for mentoring youth. I’m passionate about leaving a legacy. I am passionate about my vision. I want to leave the world a better place than when I was here. Legacy Driven is a movement for life!
