Rising Stars: Meet Anna Estrin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Estrin.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into the fashion world began with creating my designer brand of women’s clothing and accessories, Annie Couture NYC. We opened New York Fashion Week with our designer show. After I developed a network of sales worldwide, I handed over the management of the brand to the new owner.

Then at the same time, I started a weekly column in an American newspaper about the fashion industry and wrote my column. My journalistic roots have always beckoned me, and I wanted to take up writing and share with women regularly everything I could give positive, informative, and valuable. What I planned to create could not be summed up by the common word “blog.” It became broader, more expansive, and more important. And I realized that this was pure journalism.

I am obsessed with style. And today, all of my projects, in one way or another united by the theme of fashion and beauty. In my articles, it’s possible to learn about the peculiarities of Jewish woman’s style, namely about modern headdresses. I visit shows and prepare express reviews of collections from world catwalks. I’ve been working with publications such as “Marie Clare” and “Fashion Magazine 24” for many years, writing articles on fashion trends.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The attitude toward fashion is often rather frivolous. Working on the materials, I more and more often wonder: can we call fashion art? Fashion can be art, or it can be classified as pop culture. All this is intertwined and interacts very closely. Today, the main criterion of fashion – that clothes be produced, bought, and worn – needs to be updated.

After all, the outfits of past decades, or archival pieces of famous designers, are already kept in museums. And it’s great that there are now large-scale, interesting exhibitions devoted to fashion woven into art. And this is where the main thing for me becomes that people should not be afraid of fashion and not think that it is at an unattainable level for them. I’m in favor of proving to them that everything is available to us.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a fashion journalist and a fashion influencer. As a person with a sense of style and as a designer with experience, I can predict current trends for several seasons ahead and am happy to share with my audience, so they can think through their wardrobe and buy things on sale. My main thing is the ability to turn things from mass-market to luxury. I show them how to wear this or that thing to be on trend and emphasize their individuality.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I already have a lot of collaboration experience with various brands. My photoshoots have been placed in glossy fashion magazines.
