Today we’d like to introduce you to Ange Toussaint.
Hi Ange, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got my start in television very early. I would say that it was a merger of fate and opportunity. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the world of television but I didn’t know how to realistically achieve that because I didn’t see too many representations of myself on television at the time. There were no female or male personalities of Black, Caribbean descent with my kind of last name on the television screen. I remember thinking that one day I want to be that representation. I got a chance to work at a local TV station while on summer vacation to visit my family back home in the Turks and Caicos Islands and the rest as they say is history. That opportunity led to many others within the field of media and I just continued to grow my craft from there.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everything has its ups and its downs so I won’t say it’s been a smooth road. I believe anytime you get a chance to do what you love, you don’t care so much about the challenges but you focus on the opportunity. Like everyone that decides to bet on themselves, you question whether you’re good enough, whether you have what it takes to truly succeed. I think that’s the great part about pursuing something in life– you have challenges and bad days but you have to push yourself so you can overcome. Try to remember that even the obstacles and setbacks are a part of the journey.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a multi-passionate creative at heart but specifically I am a Media Presenter, Entertainment and Current Events Contributor and Lifestyle Influencer. I use my platform to present a good balance of content regarding entertainment, trending news, and inspirational content through my videos, social media and other mediums. My focus now is solidifying ‘Ange Toussaint’ in the hosting, and influencer realm.
I’m also the co-founder of A One Media & Creative Agency which specializes in helping people establish a digital footprint through social media, creative content, and branded events. We help you with written articles, branding and connecting your brand to target audiences.
Out of all the things I’ve done over the years, I’m most proud of taking that leap of faith by pivoting to a new role and a new country. The move happened right before the pandemic so it’s definitely been a faith walk but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
As for what sets me apart, I just believe that you really can achieve anything if you set your mind to it, I believe in doing work that is fulfilling and impactful. I owe who I am today to my faith in God -that faith continues to carry me through when challenges arise.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Audible is my go to for books when I don’t have time to read and consume the traditional way. Canva is a lifesaver for social media and creative content.
One of the books I’m re-reading (or listening to rather) is Atomic Habits by James Clear.
