Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Epstone.
Hi Ali, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up feeling like I didn’t fit the system at all. I was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyspraxia very young and spent most of my school years feeling behind even in the special needs classes, misunderstood, and honestly… not very intelligent. While everyone else seemed to know how to “do life,” I was constantly trying to catch up all the way through school until I carved my own path.
At the same time, I always had this deeper knowing that there was more to life than what we were being shown. I had moments as a child that felt profoundly spiritual and expansive, even though I didn’t have the language to describe it then.
As I got older, anxiety, panic attacks, depression and addiction became “my life” as I consistently dreaded my future. Alcohol and self-medication became a way to numb what I now understand was a deeply dysregulated nervous system and years of lack of self-worth & doubt. Ultimately I needed to be and feel safe. Something I didn’t truly experience until around 30.
Eventually I hit a rock bottom. My relationship was on the line, my health was declining, and I knew something had to change. So I gave up. I surrendered and jumped ship. Alan Watts’ line “When you get the message, hang up the phone” started to ring in my mind. It’s time. It’s time. So I decided to basically do the opposite of everything I’d been doing. I went ALL IN. I became obsessed with this mission of Self-Realisation and Self Actualisation. To get to know the Self and create and achieve what I’m here to do. My downward spiral in the depths of victimhood ended and I devoted myself to loving myself and this life. Why not? It was the one thing I’d never fully tried.
I honoured and respected healing, meditation, breath-work, subconscious reprogramming and understanding how real transformation, actually works beyond trends, quick fixes and surface-level motivation. I wanted to get to the root of the root, beyond the mainstream best sellers and the endless trends. I dove deep into buddhism, taoism, sufism, ancient wisdom practices, modern neuroscience and modern consciousness research and applied it all into lived experience. I tried and failed so many times before I got what I had been searching for all these years. I went down the rabbit hole but came back to share what I found – a way to dissolve limitation at the root and return to who you truly are.
Over the years I had completely and profoundly transformed my life. I overcame alcoholism, addiction, panic attacks, anxiety and depression. I rebuilt my identity, created a business called Mindwave Transformation aligned with a vision that has now helped clients all around the world, through my coaching, content & programs and continues to grow each day. I married my best friend (also business partner) & we have been together over 22 years and created a life of freedom, peace and meaning.
Today I help heart-led entrepreneurs reprogram their subconscious minds to create more impact and wealth in their heart-led businesses. We dissolve their limiting beliefs, regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with their truth and step fully into the life and mission they know they’re here for. I get to witness their breakthroughs, insights and moments of clarity as they let go of pain, old memories, suffering and lack. I watch them speak from wisdom in their fields of genius and create more time & financial freedom for themselves and their families. If I can… and my clients can… then believe me, absolutely anyone can, who’s willing to truly make it happen.
A huge part of my work is helping people stop momentarily on this “seeking” path. This can often become a trap where people fall into endless cycles of self-development or spiritual consumerism. They’ve been “working on themselves” for years but often very little tangible progress has actually been made and this becomes deeply frustrating.
A lot of people are consuming countless ideas from countless teachers without ever fully embodying any of them.
So my work is really about helping people stabilise, embody and actually become the version of themselves they already know is possible. And honestly… it’s incredible to watch their lives unfold once they do.
My past trauma became part of the very thing that now allows me to help others and for that I’m deeply grateful. Turning pain into my gift is something I never thought was possible when I was going through the waves when I was younger.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Maybe when I reach my late 90’s, I can tell you the true ratio and properly answer that question. For the last 10+ years life has mostly been bliss. Everything eventually came together and all those years of studying, trying and failing suddenly clicked into place and I let out a huge sigh of relief. At some point I realised I already had everything I could ever truly need and I no longer felt attached to the things I once desperately thought would complete me. Life still moves in cycles, seasons and rhythms of expansion and contraction, but my relationship to those experiences completely changed.
For a long time my inner world was chaos that I learned to hide well externally. Mostly. I struggled with severe anxiety and panic attacks from a very young age. I spent years trapped in fear, relentless overthinking and nervous system overwhelm. Addiction became a coping mechanism and eventually turned into alcoholism. There was also a deep feeling of not being worthy or capable because of how difficult school had been for me. Those early years really do shape the blueprint of what you download from your environment and identify with later in life.
Even years later, after helping so many people transform their lives and hearing countless stories of profound breakthroughs and results, there was still this recurring echo in me questioning whether I was truly “allowed” to be legitimate because I hadn’t walked the traditional academic path. I couldn’t let go of the data, the memories and emotions I had attached to and called my identity.
One of the biggest struggles was learning that healing and creating success isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about removing everything that isn’t truly you. Polishing the mirror of life. Taking off the masks and the layers. Cleaning the emotional residue and old memories that keep repeating in the background. That process required honesty, surrender, discipline, nervous system regulation, self-love and learning to trust myself again. Trust this new Self that was finally ready to stop surviving and actually thrive.
And looking back now… every challenge and every obstacle became part of the path. Even when you don’t think you’re on the path, that’s still ‘the path’. The things I once believed had ruined my life eventually became the very things that gave me purpose, wisdom and the ability to genuinely help others. Knowing and embodying that can make someone feel truly unstoppable.
Over the years, after everything finally began to lock into place, my wife and I created a life that once felt impossible to me. We worked remotely and travelled the world, living in Australia, Costa Rica, Thailand and South Africa, skipping winters and returning home to visit family over Christmas. For someone who once feared the future every single day, it felt surreal to wake up and realise I had created a life of freedom, peace, purpose and adventure.
But life will always continue inviting us deeper if we consistently lean into what we prefer.
A major life shift came when I lost my father and then his wife in a short space of time. Shortly after, we moved back to the UK to help care for my mother-in-law who has dementia and to support my wife through that experience too. The last 18 months have been a whirlwind of grief, major responsibility, uncertainty and emotional intensity. Priorities shifted overnight. Energy needed to be protected and conserved differently. And honestly, this period deepened everything I teach. Because presence isn’t just for retreats, beaches and meditation. It’s for the hospitals. The grief. The newfound responsibilities. Family. Exhaustion. Uncertainty. Pain in life is inevitable. But suffering… suffering is often what happens when we resist reality, resist change or become trapped in the mind’s story about what is happening. Pain is inevitable but suffering IS optional. A blunt but powerful truth to ponder.
The practices I teach don’t remove pain or magically make life perfect, forever. They help us navigate life consciously. With presence. With awareness. With grace. They help us return to ourselves in the middle of the storm instead of abandoning ourselves to fear, chaos or unconscious reaction. There is no absolute ‘good’ or ‘bad,’ only our relationship to what is happening right now and how consciously we choose to meet it. From that perspective you move into presence and acceptance. You free yourself from constantly being thrown around by the emotional rollercoaster of the highs and lows.
Of course you still feel, process and experience life deeply… but you stop becoming completely consumed by it. Live life as if it happens for you, not to you.
Living like this certainly isn’t always easy… but it is rewarding beyond words. You begin freeing yourself from the prison of your own mind. Later in business, I was pulling the thread, following intuition and helping anyone and everyone with anything and everything. I was all over the place as I never had any business coaching. My energy became scattered. I was making great money and getting things done, but I was doing too much and eventually burnt out. So I put a pin in my entire game plan and went back to square one. That was another huge but brutal lesson to go through.
I shifted my focus toward helping heart-led entrepreneurs who had already done a lot of the inner work and were ready for their next level of expansion. My challenge became honouring that vision fully, cutting away the distractions and rebuilding the business from alignment instead of overwhelm. At first it felt like failure again. More shame. More frustration. But eventually I realised those moments weren’t punishments, they were lessons asking me to slow down, reflect, refine and take full responsibility. Instead of asking: “Why is this happening to me?” I started asking: “Why is this happening for me?”
That shift changed everything. Life still has bumps, rocks and unexpected turns in the river, but now my clients and I know how to navigate them with far more trust, awareness and clarity than ever before.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work with heart-led entrepreneurs to help them reprogram their subconscious minds so they can create more impact, freedom and wealth through the work they’re truly here to do. A huge part of what I do is helping people identify and dissolve the hidden limiting beliefs, emotional patterns and nervous system responses that keep them stuck repeating the same cycles in business and life.
I’ve been working 1:1 with clients for nearly 10 years and over the last few years shifted more deeply into subconscious reprogramming, nervous system regulation and coming back to the breath as the anchor through it all. A lot of my work focuses on helping people stop overthinking, stop endlessly “working on themselves” and finally embody the version of themselves they already know is possible.
I’m probably best known for the unique combination of subconscious reprogramming, deep emotional work and energy clearing that I bring into sessions. My approach allows people to relax into a much deeper state than they often experience in traditional coaching or therapy. Once someone feels safe enough to truly soften and be honest with themselves, transformation can happen incredibly quickly. Sometimes we uncover and dissolve the root of an issue in 15 minutes, that’s been running someone’s life for years!
People often tell me: “This one session was more transformative than years of therapy.”
And I think that comes from my ability to spot the root pattern underneath the surface problem. I’ve spent over 25 years studying, experimenting with and fully embodying this work myself. I started meditating when I was 15 and became obsessed with understanding what genuinely creates lasting transformation versus what simply sounds good intellectually.
I’ve explored ancient wisdom traditions, modern neuroscience, subconscious rewiring, meditation, breathwork, nervous system work and consciousness practices from all over the world. But more importantly, I’ve lived it. I’ve experienced what it feels like to completely rebuild your identity from the inside out after addiction, severe anxiety, daily panic attacks, depression, years of self-doubt and lack of self-worth.
That lived experience is what allows me to connect deeply with people. My clients genuinely feel seen and heard because often they’ve never experienced that level of presence or honesty before. My accountability is also very direct and personal. I create an environment where clients feel safe enough to take off the masks of life, share openly, feel free to go on tangents and discover things about themselves in real time that often become the breakthrough itself.
I’m naturally very encouraging and supportive, but I’m also honest enough to tell people what they need to hear instead of just what feels comfortable. My higher-level clients especially value that because real transformation often requires radical honesty and personal responsibility. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with Hollywood producers, actors, musicians, dancers, CEO’s and single mothers from all walks of life. And one thing I know for certain is this… beneath the stories, the fears and the deep rooted conditioning… we’re all the same. We all have the capacity to heal, let go and create a life that feels deeply aligned and meaningful to us.
The best way to work with me is through my 12-week mentorship program, Freedom Unlocked. It’s an intensive process where we identify and release limiting beliefs, emotional blocks and subconscious patterns so clients can step into a completely new way of living and creating. We combine ancient wisdom with modern science-backed tools and practical embodiment work so the transformation becomes real, grounded and sustainable.
A huge focus of the work is helping clients become undeniable in their business and life. When someone shifts their identity and nervous system at the root level, their external reality starts changing too. I get to witness clients create aligned businesses, healthier relationships, more confidence, more income, more freedom and a far deeper sense of peace within themselves.
Outside of coaching, I’m also a singer and manager in a band called BLACK SURF. Balancing music and business has been a huge part of my own journey. My coaching work allows me to tap deeply into my feminine energy through connection, intuition and emotional deep diving, while music allows me to express the more masculine side through creation and performance. Honouring both sides of myself has brought a level of balance, fulfilment and alignment. I’m no longer suppressing parts of myself to fit into one identity. I’m honouring my path fully, living my Dharma and following my bliss in multiple forms. It’s honestly an indescribable feeling and something I genuinely wish more people could experience for themselves.
What I’m most proud of aside from carving my own path and creating a successful business (despite the whispers of those around me and having no outside help.)… It’s the fact that I figured out a way through. There were years where I genuinely didn’t know if I was going to overcome the anxiety, addiction, self-doubt and chaos I was living in. I didn’t know if I’d ever feel free or peaceful in myself. But I stayed committed to the vision anyway, even when nothing externally seemed to be working yet. Even after I had overcome all the above I was lost and confused but never ever quit on this vision and dream.
Now I get to help other people do the same. That’s something I’ll never stop being grateful for.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Oh my goodness… yes. Strap in and buckle up if you’re reading this and thinking about creating your own path and making it happen.
Decide whether you’re genuinely a winner or someone who quits the moment things get difficult. That may sound harsh, but entrepreneurship will expose every excuse, fear and limiting belief you have. This path isn’t for everyone and that’s okay. But if you decide you’re all in… then be ALL in.
Leave doubt, fear and worry at the door as quickly as possible. Doubt alone has destroyed more dreams than failure ever will. Your external reality often mirrors your inner state, so if you constantly question yourself, hesitate or expect things to go wrong… eventually that becomes your experience. You have to learn to trust yourself before the world fully trusts you.
Don’t do what I did and try to figure everything out alone. A great coach can save you years of time, energy and money. They can see what you can’t see in yourself, challenge your blind spots and activate you into your next level far faster than struggling in isolation. I’m personally investing 5K into a business coach for one month right now to prepare me for my next level and honestly, I’ve never felt happier spending that money.
Get crystal clear on what you DON’T want. Know it so deeply that it fuels you toward what you DO want. Pain can become powerful fuel when you stop identifying with it and instead use it as direction.
Know exactly what you DO want and become emotionally committed to making it happen. There will be moments where you have to put yourself out there, step into the unknown and move before you feel fully ready. But the freedom, peace, relief and abundance that can come from living in alignment with your vision is beyond worth it.
You have ONE life and that life is happening NOW. Trust yourself enough to invest in your dream and stop waiting for permission. Don’t let fear, other people’s opinions or your past identity stop you from becoming who you already know you’re capable of being.
And honestly… one of the biggest things I wish I knew earlier is that the future never actually arrives. It’s always now.
So many people live in “I’ll be happy when…”
When I have more money.
When I feel more confident.
When I finally succeed.
But life is happening right here.
The real shift happens when you stop postponing your life and begin embodying the version of yourself you’re trying to become right now. Think like them. Walk like them. Speak like them. Create like them. Love like them.
You get what you ARE, not what you want.
When your inner world changes consistently enough, your external reality eventually has no choice but to reflect it back.
So stop looking outside of yourself for the final answer. Learn from others, absolutely… but remember that your greatest teacher will always be your own lived experience, your intuition and your willingness to trust yourself.
Your future changes the second you decide you deserve more for yourself and the path appears the moment you stop negotiating with your innate, limitless potential.
