Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Crowley.
Hi Alexander, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Born and raised in South Florida. I’m originally a poet, I’ve been a part and won multiple poetry slams and even won Blue Apples Louder than A Bomb in 2016 representing my school Miramar High. My journey in spoken word has created a lane for me musically. I’ve done music before I even did poetry, so the transition was very easy and seamless. My music represents a certain energy I feel I portray in real life. I use my poetry skills to come up with clever lines although on the same token, I don’t like to think too much about getting very deep lyrically, my music is meant to belt felt and I think over-complicated lyrics involves too much of a thought process for listeners. Instead, I like to push a certain feeling with every song I create. My influence comes from a very wide discography of music. You can find people from lil baby and king von to Barry Manilow and Queen in my music library. I consider myself a ultimate music junkie and pride myself on my knowledge of all music. I’m constantly thriving to learn and discover new fashions of music. Speaking of fashion, I often look to fashion for inspiration for music. Clothing and Modeling have always been a big part in my life therefore, I try to incorporate colors and aesthetic visuals into my art craft. Throughout the last year, I’ve been blessed to have an amazing team lead by my manager @Rawfee that has pushed my dreams and have made my visions come to life. This year we are looking to do some big things starting with an event we are throwing April 9th called crowfest. The event will include some other well-known south Florida artist clothing brands. All in all, I like people to know that I’m an artist that takes my craft and the general music zeitgeist very seriously. My mission with music is to share self-confidence and positivity.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has been anything but a smooth road, I’ve experienced everything from backstabs to coming back from long musical breaks and wanting to quit so bad. Thankfully things have been a lot easier to manage thanks to my team at very good records and my manager @rawfee.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a recording artist and songwriter, as well as poet and thespians. What sets me apart from everyone is else is that I am me. We are all different, there no need for me to try to be different. As long as I stay true to myself and remain genuine, it shouldn’t be hard for me to stand out.
What are your plans for the future?
I have an event that I’m headlining April 9th. As far as music, I’m looking to drop a couple more singles before I drop my project DONT DIE. Everyone else under Very Good labels has things planned as well, we look to become not only alliances with the major brands and labels in South Florida but become a platform for young artists of all kinds in South Florida.
