Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Germilus.
Hi Alex, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I first started producing when I got out the hospital for health issues that stopped me from playing my collegiate sport of my last year 2021. I always wanted to be involved in music and some shape or form. I knew I didn’t want to be behind the mic cording, but I do not mind being on the computer editing, mixing mastering, and producing. One of my coworkers that recommended me for this interview Showthief I actually took the time out to listen to my beats first started. It has been watching me evolve ever since we built a relationship just from working with each other our job and in the studio. As of today, I’ve been producing for a little close to two years making beats in the style of Lil Uzi Vert rod wave Nardo Wick, little baby showthief, etc… also the person that got me into making beats who is my friend. I met in college that I didn’t know he made beats for two years… is one of those things where you know what you want to do, but don’t know how to start and he help me lay down the groundwork what to buy how do use it in from there I took it from there and made my own
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say it has been a smooth road, but it does have a speed bumps. There’s times that I wanted to quit, but I know that I put in too much time and effort, and money to quit now, and I know and feel that me and show thief are close to making something great. When I feel down or not as motivated in music, I go back and listen to my old beats when I first started in this to what I make now and that gives me a sense of motivation to continue because everything takes practice if this is something I want to make a career out of I have to be ready to take the ups and downs, even if it’s meant for me or not but I have a great support team which is just a few friends and then myself to keep myself motivated.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in producing obviously beats, but what’s more easy for me is the more melodic heartfelt Rod wave type of music but also, I can also do very trap, heavy, hitting bass, dark melodies
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me the most is really just my immediate family and close friends because just like I need them as a great support team they also need me to maintain the household or maintain a stress-free household with my mom working and my sister going to school my goal is to eventually make this a flourishing career to support everything that needs to be done on my end for my family
