Rising Stars: Meet Aaron Fertel of Miami / South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Fertel.

Hi Aaron, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started with a camera and a love for sports. In the beginning, I was simply showing up to games, taking photos, and sharing my work online. I wasn’t focused on building a business at first. I just enjoyed capturing moments and telling stories through my lens.

As I continued to improve and put my work out there, opportunities started to come naturally. I began working with athletes and celebrities which helped me grow both my portfolio and my network. Each connection led to new opportunities, and over time what started as a passion ended up becoming a business.

Today, I specialize in photography and videography across several industries. I work with athletes, businesses, and individuals to create content that helps tell their stories, build their brands, and capture meaningful moments. While I’ve been fortunate to work with some incredible people, I’m still focused on growing, learning, and finding new ways to take my business to the next level. For me, it’s always been about creating great work and building genuine relationships along the way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had to deal with the ups and downs that come with running a business. One of the biggest challenges has been consistency. There are seasons when work is nonstop and others when things slow down, so learning how to adapt and keep moving forward has been important.

Another challenge has been standing out in a very competitive industry. Photography and videography are fields where a lot of people have cameras, but building a reputation, earning trust, and creating work that consistently delivers value takes time. I’ve had to be patient, continue improving my skills, and focus on building genuine relationships rather than looking for overnight success.

There have also been long days, late nights, and plenty of moments where I’ve had to figure things out as I went. But every challenge has taught me something valuable and helped me grow both as a business owner and as a creative.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a photographer and videographer based in South Florida, specializing in sports, business branding, lifestyle content, and events. I work with athletes, businesses, brands, and individuals to create content that helps tell their stories and showcase who they are.

What I’m most proud of is the relationships and trust I’ve built with my clients over the years. Many of my opportunities have come through referrals and repeat business, which speaks to the quality of my work and the experience I provide.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people and capture authentic moments. I focus on creating content that feels natural, professional, and unique to each client.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I think luck has definitely played a role, but I believe you have to put yourself in a position to take advantage of it. Some of my biggest opportunities came from being in the right place at the right time and meeting the right people, but those opportunities only happened because I was consistently showing up, networking, and putting my work out there.

On the other hand, there have been times when projects fell through or things didn’t go as planned. I’ve learned that while luck can open a door, hard work, consistency, and relationships are what keep it open.
