Partial Print’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Partial Print shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Partial, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? When was the last time you felt true joy?
This is a tricky one, Joy comes in a few different forms and its not always there when you want it. For me accomplishing things and completing goals brings me joy. Making progress along the way towards those goals can bring joy too. For instance, I just got a mix Back from my audio engineer, Grant Valentine and as I was listening to it and hearing how good it sounds. A smile came across my face and I jumped around the room excited. Its’s the little things like that or checking things off my list of goals, my Iphone screen is just a list of things to do that I update every month as I do them. I also find joy in recording music, playing basketball and in my newest hobby I’ve been doing the past 2 years, Snowboarding. Landing a new trick and challenging myself also makes me happy. I think any kind of exposure to new places and cultures can always bring some type of Joy as well. We could all use a bit more culture and vacation if you ask me, America is so work driven to fund the system thats in place. Lastly I’d say starting small projects and watching them grow and come to fruition, this plays on bigger goals and progress like I mentioned before but in a different perspective. These are just the things that bring me joy.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My Name is Partial Print, I’m an American rapper, producer, singer-songwriter and graphic designer based in Southwest Florida, with over 12 years of experience around music. I started my journey as a DJ with a passion for music. I like to believe I grew up in the best era of music as I was exposed to bands like the Backstreet Boys, NSynch, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, TLC and Boyz II Men in the 90s. Then music sort of transitioned to Sum 41, Blink 182, Third Eye Blind, The Goo Goo Dolls, Limp Bizkit and more. Once 50 Cent came out my life changed lol, I moved from Massachusetts around 2000 and already having a diverse palette of music, it only got larger and more diverse.

I’m in Florida as a teenager now watching BET106 and park listening to more Hip Hop & Rap like Kanye West, Rick Ross, Jay Z, Outkast, Lil Wayne, Wu Tang Clan, De La Soul, Digable Planets, Curren$y along with some 3 Doors Down, Yellow Card and artists like T Pain. The diversity of music I grew up listening to molded me into an artist that likes more than one style of music and wants to create more than one style of music. I personally think just staying in one lane is very limiting. I believe true creativity shouldn’t have limits or be boxed in.

I started recording Hip Hop music in high school just writing and practicing my delivery and recording mixtapes. I started producing as well in 2010 and got more into production as well as developing myself as a recording artist throughout college. I released a few projects from 2016 to present under the name, Partial Print and have evolved into a multifaceted creative force—writing, producing, and designing the cover art for my own projects. Unlike many musicians, I create original works of art that merge sound and visual design. This consists of Production, Writing Lyrics, Recording, Mixing and the Designing of Cover Art & Merch. Most artists have a whole team for that stuff, but I’m doing it myself with occasional help when I’m too busy. I’m pretty meticulous and a tad reserved with my art so sometimes I have a hard time asking others for help, I’m trying to get better with involving others as Collaboration is an important part of being an artist.

I have four albums currently available on all platforms: El Dorado, Forensic Files, No Excuses and Doin Fine.

I also have some singles out as well such as : No Trace, Psychedelics, Ball Out, Luv, Jumper, On The Go, Play Wit Bands, Bag, Burnin Up and Paqs.

My Youtube channel has 6 Music videos up on the page and I will be releasing a few more by the end of 2025.
youtube.com/@partialprintmusic I’d appreciate any Subscribers as I’m trying to get the count up.

My new EP titled Love Hurts will most likely release in October or November of 2025. I’m currently planning the release party and marketing strategy as well as practicing with a Live Band in SWFL.

Love Hurts dives deep into the emotional aftermath of a short, toxic relationship with a narcissist across three tracks, “Feel This Way” (Prod. Lil Young Wiz), “Time & Energy” (Prod. Partial Print) and “Consequences” (Prod. Partial Print). The project captures the raw vulnerability and emotional drain that come from loving someone manipulative with a unique sound, blending singing, emo-rap and alternative guitar over trap drums. The EP explores heartbreak and the struggle to reclaim one’s peace after giving too much to someone who only took. Each song builds on a narrative of pain, reflection, and ultimately, personal growth through emotional scars. Mixed & Mastered by @Jbenz_BeCampin • Artwork by Duane Planes x Partial Print.

I do have some other songs and Videos that I will be dropping in 2026. I can’t drop the name yet as its top secret but just know its in the works.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I had a foot Injury and surgery a few years ago that drastically changed how I view life and my future. I had a lot of time to self reflect and think about what was important to me. I was depressed and went through every possible emotion one could during that long recovery, I didn’t even make music for like 2 years. I had a lot of people that were my “friends” that didn’t even check up on me, hang out or anything like that, not saying they were obligated to but it really showed me that you are in some situations completely isolated. Theres things that can happen to us in life that we can’t control and were all mortal humans. Life can change in an instant and you never really appreciate things that we take for granted until we lose them, Like Walking and mobility. In this period of recovery I was probably at the lowest I’ve ever been mentally. It was quite tough but the whole situation and process made me mentally stronger and just showed me who’s really with me and not. I honed my focus on my goals and now I’m executing those goals each day and making progress.

On top of that I’d say Covid changed how all of us see the world, leadership and government. Throw in all the issues of today with whats going on and its just so much corporate greed and corruption on top of extremely high cost of living. I’m just trying to inspire others to live the life they want for themselves the way they want, to express themselves and stand up to all the BS because life can be simple but a lot of times its overcomplicated. I wan’t people to listen to my music and hopefully it lets them know they aren’t alone and they can relate to some of the things I’ve experienced and maybe it will help motivate them or help them through their struggles and life.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
Non-Transactional Relationships & Friendships and how Life was in the 90s

I feel like because cost of living is so high we all have less time to see our friends and actually hang out, plus were older and seeing things differently. We’re all focused on making enough money to survive so its hard out here. I’m big on time management but I strongly believe we all make time for things and people we care about. I just miss that and life was so much simpler in the 90s. With the internet now a lot of things are oversaturated and less original because theres so much imitation and trend following. Thats why I take so much pride in my original artwork when it comes to music.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I’d like to say yes. There is a large percentage of me that you do get majority of the time but there are certain views and opinions I’d probably keep to myself in terms of cancel culture and some personal life stuff and all that, with social media you need to be careful what you put out there sometimes and how you project yourself. However I’ve always been a blunt person that doesn’t sugar coat things to make it more digestible for others, with me its pretty straight forward. I have Partial Print tatted on my body and I own a trademark for it. I personally watched all seasons of forensic files and criminal minds, I really like serial killer documentaries and movies. That’s actually how I came up with my artist name.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If immortality were real, what would you build?
If this were the case, I’d probably have enough time to build extreme wealth. In that case I’d start a basketball training business. Give back to foster kids because I’m adopted and I’d probably have some real estate portfolio around the globe and another business or two. Maybe a multi-media agency that helps independent artists for a small percentage in return.
