Odette, it’s been too long since we last connected. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with our community again. Some readers might have missed our prior conversations, so maybe you can kick things off for us with a quick intro?
My name is Odette Fernandez Lopez and I am a portrait photographer. I specialize in family photography and personal branding for small business owners.
What is personal branding?
Personal branding is how you present your value to the world: as a person and as a business owner.
Our audience is primarily entrepreneurs and creatives. Do you have any advice for how they can build their personal brands?
My advice for entrepreneurs and small business owners is simple:
You NEED to build a powerful personal brand, and the best time to do that is yesterday.
Simon Sinek said it best: “People do not buy what you do. They buy why you do it.” You need to sell stories and values, rather than services and products. That’s what will make your audience fall in love with your brand.
Show your authentic self, consistently, and you will see results.
And also, make sure your social media tells a consistent story about who you are, and why you do what you do.
How can a branding session improve their businesses?
A branding session might be the turning point to separate you from the pack. Why would anyone make business/buy from you if there might be a similar/cheaper business like yours next door?
YOU make the difference!
That’s the unique thing you can provide, and it makes the whole difference.
Images that will show your audience who you truly are will make them will fall in love with you, your service, your product, and who you really are.
Tell your story consistently, and more people will engage/follow/share your content.
What can you tell us about Limitless, your new photography project for women in business?
Limitless is my new passion project, It is dedicated to women in business to show how limitless we are.
The future is, indeed, female and we rise by lifting others… so I want to help women show up for their brand, unapologetically, and authentically.
I want to celebrate what businesswomen bring to our society, and take the best photographs they have ever seen of themselves.
We’ll shoot for your brand, and for yourself.

My Limitless project is for 35 women in business. To apply, you need to be over 35 years old and be a business owner.
