We recently had the chance to connect with Nicole Beal and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are sacred because they set the tone for everything that follows. I begin in stillness, taking quiet moments for prayer and affirmation before anything else. No emails, no notifications, no social media. Just space to breathe and be present. Allowing that time helps me center and ground myself, which is so important before letting in the outside noise. It’s how I stay positive and focused on what matters most, no matter what the day brings.
From there, I move into motion with a good workout to get my energy flowing, followed by a healthy breakfast to keep that energy steady. I’ve learned that when my mind, body, and spirit are cared for and aligned, everything flows better. Creativity feels effortless, decision-making is clearer, and I show up stronger for my family, myself, and my brand.
Once I’m centered and energized, I shift into business mode, starting with reviewing my goals for the day. From there, I might organize my priorities, check on orders, or map out content ideas before the rest of the world wakes up. Those early hours are when clarity comes easiest, when ideas flow freely, and I can plan and execute with purpose.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Nicole Beal, and I’m the co-founder of Blackwood Premium, a sustainable accessories brand that brings together culture, craftsmanship, and conscious living. We design handcrafted wood sunglasses, watches, and bracelets that celebrate individuality and purpose.
Blackwood Premium was born from legacy. I grew up on the island of Anguilla, where my father was a master woodworker. From him, I learned to appreciate the delicate beauty of nature and the care it takes to transform raw materials into something meaningful. I saw how raw wood, in the hands of someone who honored it, could become something special: functional yet fashionable, simple yet powerful. That same spirit lives in every piece we create.
What makes our brand special is that every piece tells a unique story. We use sustainably sourced hardwoods for their natural beauty and individuality, so no two grains are ever the same. Each piece carries its own character, just like the people who wear them. And while we care deeply about style, we care just as much about impact. Every order plants a new tree, every shipment is carbon-neutral, and every design is created to inspire confidence and connection.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom. She saw me clearly before I even knew myself. She understood my heart, my sensitivity, my creativity, and the way I cared deeply about people and the world around me. She always made those qualities feel like strengths, not weaknesses.
Her example taught me what grace under pressure looks like, what faith in action feels like, and how to move through life with both strength and softness. So much of who I am and how I show up now is a reflection of her.
She also taught me the importance of treating myself with respect and carrying myself with pride. She’d always say that whatever you put your name on should represent you well, so do it with excellence. That lesson has stayed with me in everything I create — it’s the standard I hold myself to, and the heart behind everything I do.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self it’s okay to be quiet. You don’t have to force yourself to be louder or more like anyone else. There’s strength in the way you observe, the way you feel things deeply, and the way you move at your own pace.
In time, you’ll learn that being quiet doesn’t mean being unseen. The right spaces will find you, and your voice will grow naturally when you trust it instead of trying to fix it. God didn’t make you small — He made you thoughtful, and that’s something the world needs.
So keep showing up as you are. Keep listening, keep creating, keep trusting what’s in you. You don’t need to change to be powerful.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that what matters most to me is protecting my peace and keeping my energy positive. I am very intentional about who and what I allow into my space. No bad energy, no negative noise. I value positivity, kindness, mindfulness, and gratitude for where I am.
I’ve learned that words carry power, so positive self-talk and speaking life over others is something I live by every day. It’s not about pretending everything is perfect, it’s about staying grounded, keeping perspective, and choosing peace and positivity even when life starts to test you.
My friends know that for me, it always comes back to mindset. How you think and how you speak shape how you show up, and that affects everything. So I lead with light, love, and good energy every day.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
I think my biggest regret would be not using my gifts to their fullest, not creating, not sharing, not pouring into people the way I know I’m meant to. I’ve always felt a deep sense of purpose in everything I do, and I never want to look back and feel like I played it safe or held back out of fear.
Life has shown me how precious time really is, and I want to use mine to make a difference, to create beauty, to leave something meaningful behind. If I ever stopped doing that, if I let doubt or comfort get in the way, that’s what I’d regret most.
