Minerva Salles shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Minerva, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
My path to graduation was anything but conventional. It began with a missed flight at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, a seemingly trivial mishap that rerouted my entire life. Instead of leaving New York, I stayed and applied to graduate school.
That decision led to an acceptance letter from Columbia University in the City of New York that changed everything. From winning a merit-based scholarship among my cohort to navigating the upheaval of a global pandemic, I faced each challenge with determination.
When classes resumed in person, I was committed to finishing what I started, even if it meant commuting from upstate Pennsylvania, Miami, and Washington, D.C., sometimes spending up to eight hours one way just to attend class.
Now, as I hold this prestigious graduate degree in my hands, I feel a profound sense of pride, not just for the academic achievement, but for the journey itself.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Minerva Salles, Founder and CEO of OMG Creative Solutions, a boutique multimedia company dedicated to empowering public figures to own the spotlight with clarity, confidence, and strategic grace. With 15 years of experience in communication and media, I transform sports athletes, public servants, and other high-profile individuals into powerful communicators who protect their brand, inspire trust, and lead with authenticity.
Before launching OMG, I built a dynamic career in broadcast journalism, serving as an independent producer and on-air contributor for ABC News Now, and as a multimedia specialist for ABCNews.com. I developed content for iconic programs like World News Tonight and Good Morning America, and continued my storytelling journey on Amazon Prime Video, where I wrote, produced, and delivered compelling visual narratives. Along the way, I have had the privilege of interviewing legends like Mariano Rivera, Roberto Durán, and Raúl Lavié; conversations that revealed a universal truth: even the most accomplished individuals can struggle to communicate under pressure.
That insight inspired me to create a transformational communication and media training platform to elevate clients master public speaking, refine internal messaging, and navigate the media with confidence. Whether they are stepping onto a stage, sitting for a broadcast interview, or engaging on digital platforms, my clients emerge as confident communicators ready to lead with presence and purpose.
Beyond the professional realm, I am a lifelong learner and global communicator. I hold a bachelor’s degree in communications from Seton Hall University and a three-year master’s degree in management and innovation from Columbia University. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and I am currently studying French. I am also a passionate Argentine Tango dancer, which allows me to connect with culture and emotion in a way that complements my work.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose and must now be released is the version of myself that felt the need to constantly prove my worth. For years, I wore resilience like armor, pushing through uphill battles with a fierce determination that became my signature. That drive helped me build a life and a business that inspires others. But now, I realize that I no longer need to fight to be seen; I am seen. I no longer need to hustle to be heard.; I am heard and echoes in the lives that I have touched.
It is time to release the part of me that believed rest was a luxury and softness was weakness. That mindset served me well in the trenches, but I have outgrown it. I am stepping into a new chapter where grace leads, not grit. Where I allow ease to flow in, trusting that my foundation is strong enough to hold the weight of my dreams without constant strain. I have earned the right to evolve into a resilient wise woman.
Letting go of that old identity does not mean losing my edge; it means refining it. I will always carry the lessons of perseverance, but now I choose to lead with peace, with joy, and with the quiet confidence of someone who knows her purpose and walks in it unapologetically. I am no longer chasing the light; I am the beacon of light.
And in releasing what no longer serves me, I make space for even greater impact. My story continues, not as a tale of survival, but as a blueprint for thriving among challenges and setbacks. The best is yet to come.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I will make mistakes; however, I will learn from them with grace. I have come to understand that missteps are not signs of failure, but invitations to grow. Every stumble has taught me something valuable about resilience, humility, and the power of reflection. I no longer fear mistakes; I welcome them as part of the process. They sharpen my instincts, deepen my wisdom, and remind me that progress is rarely linear.
Further, people will judge, often through the lens of their own limitations. Some will offer advice not from a place of genuine concern, but from comparison, envy, or misunderstanding. I have learned to filter those voices. I do not internalize criticism from those who have not walked my path or built what I am building. My journey is uniquely mine, crafted by vision, fueled by faith, and sustained by relentless determination. I trust my intuition, my preparation, and the quiet knowing that I am capable of extraordinary things.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Respect is the cornerstone of every meaningful connection; it is what allows trust to grow and love to flourish. When we lead with respect for ourselves, for others, and for the stories that shaped us, we create space for authenticity and empathy to thrive.
Also, honoring your heritage is not just an act of remembrance; it’s an act of power. Your culture carries the wisdom, resilience, and beauty of generations before you. It is the values in your heart and the lens through which you see the world. Embracing it means standing tall in your identity, even when the world tries to flatten it. It means celebrating the traditions, languages, and rituals that make you.
We must never forget where we came from. Our roots keep us grounded when life tries to sweep us away. They remind us of the sacrifices made, the battles fought, and the dreams passed down. And when we know our origin, we walk forward with clarity, purpose, and pride.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I can sleep at night knowing I have honored my values, stayed true to my purpose, and moved one step closer to the vision I hold for my life. It is the quiet confidence that comes from knowing I have poured my energy into something meaningful.
Waking up with a rested soul and an energized spirit is a gift to protect my peace, to set boundaries, and to trust that my journey is unfolding exactly as it should. Moreover, it fuels my creativity, my leadership, and my ability to inspire others to pursue their own goals with courage and clarity.
That is why I strive to begin each day with intention and end it with reflection. It is in those quiet moments before the world rushes in or after it winds down that I reconnect with my “why.”
Peace, for me, is the result of living boldly, loving deeply, and leading with authenticity.
