Meet Young Mufaza | Artist

We are thrilled to be connecting with Young Mufaza again. He is an Artist and is also a content partner. Content partners help Voyage in so many ways from spreading the word about the work that we do, sponsoring our mission and collaborating with us on content like this.

Known from his track “Morena” Mufaza is an uprising Brazilian underground artist, songwriter from South Florida. With the ability to deliver in three languages. A versatile artist with no genre who displays a combination of word-play and unexpected metaphors as he describes self-awareness and past experience. Check out our conversation with Young Mufaza below.

What inspires you and how do you keep yourself motivated?
My biggest inspiration and motivation has to be my family. My backbone. I have a picture of the three of us on my bedroom wall so every day when I wake up the first image I see is them. That refreshes my mindset every time. Doing outdoor activities and being with the world triggers me to stay inspired as well.

Any upcoming projects?
Absolutely! I’m dropping my first EP this month after opening my own record label in Brazil. I’m super stoked about that. I worked on it all year along aside my producer “1Shot”. I also have another EP dropping first thing next year, and I’m tapping into Afrobeat on this one. My fans have been asking for it. This will be for them. I’m also doing shows after the release of Jungle Fever in 2022 and more collaborations.

Is there any artist that you would like to work in the near future?
Man! So many but It would be a dream to share the studio with Timbaland, Pharrell, Wizkid, Tekno, or Randy and Jeremih.

What is the concept of your new EP “Bubble”?
The concept of my EP Bubble is pretty complex. These past two years I was trapped in this bubble of pure illusion where I found myself trying to save toxic individuals and just trying to balance myself with outside energies. I became very aware of my surroundings and caught myself before it was too late. The blue ball of energy represents myself and the pink portals represent the challenges I had to face. Definitely some emotions on this one.

What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?
In 5 years I see myself behind the scenes signing upcoming artists. I would love to invest more time in my family but also help others around the world by teaching and spreading the importance of agriculture. I’m looking for that one hit that will allow me to break through, grow my platform so I can help make these changes. I want to be able to create a new sound, something never felt before.

It was so great to reconnect. One last question – how can our readers connect with you, learn more or support you?
Stay tuned for my EP dropping in a couple of days.
