Today we’d like to introduce you to Wesly Giordany.
Hi Wesly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is K’nek, and my journey with music really started during my teenage years. I grew up going through a lot of instability, moving from place to place, dealing with struggles within my family, and trying to find peace in the middle of difficult seasons. During that time, hip hop music became my escape. I would spend hours listening to one artist’s discography after another because music felt like the only thing that truly understood what I was feeling.
Ironically, even though I loved music so much, I never imagined myself becoming an artist. I respected music too much and believed it was only meant for people who were naturally gifted. Everything changed when I gave my life to Christ at 18 years old. Not long after, my pastor asked a few friends and me to create a rap song to perform at church. At the time, I had no idea that one small opportunity would completely redirect my life. That single performance turned into multiple music projects, ministry opportunities, and performances all across Florida as Christian Hip Hop artists.
Eventually, our group disbanded because of life circumstances, and honestly, it left me broken. I walked away from music completely for about six years. During that time, I wasn’t creating, performing, or involved in the industry at all. But years later, God reignited my passion for music through a completely different calling: helping independent artists build full-time careers from their craft so they wouldn’t have to work outside of their purpose.
That vision led me to start offering production, recording, mixing, and mentorship services focused on positivity, spirituality, and encouragement. I built my very first studio out of an empty garage and started helping artists from all different backgrounds pursue their goals. As I continued working with artists, I realized so many people needed guidance but didn’t have access to information about the music business. That’s what inspired me to launch my YouTube channel, where I began teaching artists everything I was learning about the industry. Within a few months, the channel started gaining thousands of views, and the platform grew much faster than I expected.
After spending the next two years helping other artists grow, I eventually felt God calling me back into creating music myself, but this time as a solo artist. That’s when K’nek was born. Since then, I’ve been blessed to become a full-time recording artist, speaker, producer, and educator. I’ve had opportunities to travel, perform, share my testimony, and encourage people through both my music and my platform.
At the core of everything I do is the belief that purpose can grow out of pain. My story is really about faith, perseverance, and using every hardship as fuel to help inspire somebody else to keep going.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. The biggest struggle I faced as an artist happened in 2019, right after I began working on my very first solo project as K’nek. That was the year I lost both of my kidneys to acute kidney failure, and it became the hardest season of my life.
Everything changed overnight. I was going through dialysis treatments while still trying to create music, and there were days when even getting through a single verse would take hours because of the exhaustion and fatigue. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, it tested me in every possible way. There were moments where I could have easily given up on music altogether, but something inside of me refused to quit.
For the first time in my life, I decided that I wasn’t going to allow my circumstances, my medical condition, or any obstacle to stop me from pursuing my purpose. Even in the middle of hospital visits, treatments, and uncertainty, I kept creating. Music became therapy for me during that season. It became a way for me to process pain, hold onto faith, and remind myself that God still had a plan for my life.
By the grace of God, I was able to finish my first solo project throughout that entire experience. Not long after, I received a kidney transplant, which I truly consider a miracle from God. That entire journey completely changed my perspective on life, purpose, and perseverance.
Looking back now, I realize that season gave me a testimony far greater than music itself. It taught me how to keep moving forward even when life feels impossible, and that mindset now influences everything I create and everything I try to pour into other people through my music and platform.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Christian Hip Hop artist, producer, audio engineer, content creator, and music business educator. A lot of what I do revolves around empowering independent artists while also using music and media as a tool to inspire people through faith, authenticity, and perseverance.
As an artist, I create music that blends real-life experiences, testimony, motivation, and faith into modern hip hop. My music often focuses on overcoming adversity, trusting God through difficult seasons, and encouraging people to keep moving forward no matter what obstacles they face. I’m especially known for the transparency in my music because many of the songs are directly inspired by personal experiences, including my battle with kidney failure and my journey through recovery and purpose.
In addition to creating music, I specialize in helping independent artists understand the business side of the music industry. Through my platform, WesTheTech Productions, and my YouTube channel, I teach artists about music distribution, royalties, marketing, branding, recording, and building sustainable careers independently. One thing I’m passionate about is helping artists avoid feeling lost or taken advantage of in the industry, especially artists who may not have access to mentorship or resources.
I’m also heavily involved in ministry and mentorship through my church, where I serve as a Music Director. I help lead worship teams, mentor musicians, organize events, and create opportunities for young creatives to develop both spiritually and artistically.
What I’m most proud of, honestly, isn’t just the accomplishments or numbers, but the impact. I’m proud that I’ve been able to turn some of the hardest moments of my life into something that encourages other people. Whether it’s an artist telling me one of my videos helped them finally understand the music business, or someone sharing that my music inspired them through a difficult season, those moments mean the most to me.
I think what sets me apart is that I genuinely live everything I talk about. I’m not just teaching artists how to build independently; I’ve actually built my own career independently while overcoming real-life struggles at the same time. I’ve experienced the creative side, the business side, the ministry side, and the personal battles behind the scenes. Because of that, people connect with me not just for information, but for authenticity. My goal has never been simply to entertain people. It’s to inspire people, educate people, and remind them that purpose is still possible even after pain.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Absolutely. There are so many people who deserve credit for helping me throughout this journey because none of this was built alone.
First and foremost, I have to give all glory to God. My faith has been the foundation of everything I do, especially during the hardest seasons of my life. There were moments where I physically, mentally, and emotionally did not think I could keep going, especially during my battle with kidney failure, and I truly believe God carried me through those moments and gave me purpose beyond my circumstances.
I also have to give a huge amount of credit to my church family at First Baptist Church of Plantation. They played a major role in developing me spiritually, creatively, and as a leader. My pastor was actually the person who first encouraged my friends and me to create a rap song for the church years ago, which ultimately sparked my journey into Christian Hip Hop. Over the years, the church has continued to support me through ministry opportunities, leadership roles, mentorship, and encouragement.
One person who especially deserves recognition is my mentor, Arthur Wilson. He played a major role in helping shape my understanding of music and the technical side of the industry. He was a mentor to me through church and taught me how to create music, record vocals, engineer, mix, and master songs. A lot of the skills I use today as a producer and audio engineer were built on the foundation he helped establish early on. More importantly, he helped show me that music could be used as a tool for purpose and ministry, not just entertainment.
My family and close friends also deserve a tremendous amount of credit because they stood beside me during some of the darkest moments of my life. During my health battle, there were many days when I felt defeated, exhausted, and uncertain about the future, but their prayers, support, and encouragement kept me moving forward.
I’m also incredibly grateful for the artists, subscribers, and supporters who believed in me and in my vision early on. When I launched my YouTube channel and began teaching artists about the music industry, I honestly had no idea how many people it would impact. Seeing artists apply the knowledge, grow their careers, and trust me enough to learn from my experiences has been one of the biggest blessings of this journey.
At the end of the day, I think success is always bigger than one individual. My journey has been shaped by faith, mentorship, community, and people who believed in me during seasons where I struggled to believe in myself.
