Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Harley.
Victoria, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Becoming a hairstylist started off as a passion project, that turned into a career that I am passionate about! I started beauty school back in 2014, on the terms of learning makeup and becoming licensed. Hair, Coloring, Styling… quickly took over and every year since then, I tend to focus on a new area of my interest and as I evolved and perfected a skill I will then move onto a new interest. My current venture is gaining practice working under my Barbering license.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all: it seems nerve-wracking to transform someone and watch it from start to finish. However, at the beginning of my career, I assisted and I learned how to do in-depth consultation, I developed a strong understanding of color theory and definitely quality that I liked and, didn’t like. Which is a whole nother story because, in the beginning, it was difficult finding a Salon Home. I quickly learned that to Vibe with your Tribe meant more that I thought.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of. What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in curly hair, blonding and all things color! As mentioned before, I dedicate my time to perfect my craft and due to that, I am most proud of the work that I do because I make sure that I give my all! There is always going to be a new trend around the corner and challenging myself to learn more, keeps me inspired and constantly evolving.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I love visiting Miami because there is always something new! To visit, to eat at, to see, to explore! I’m often in the area because of classes. When a big artist visits from out of state to host a class, it often in Miami. So, my fiancé and I make a trip out of it by packing up the car and often times arrive a day before to enjoy a night on the town or a day in the city.
