Meet Victor Preval of Miami / South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Preval.

Hi Victor, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was born and raised in Havana, Cuba, where I began studying music at a young age. I went on to attend the National Institute of Art, one of Cuba’s most prestigious music conservatories, where I received formal training in musical instrument performances and music education.

After graduating, I worked as a music professor while continuing to perform professionally. In 2011, I moved to Miami and began building my career in the United States. What started as performances at local venues gradually evolved into opportunities to perform at some of the most recognized restaurants, luxury venues, private events, weddings, and corporate functions throughout South Florida and beyond.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of performing for international brands, celebrities, high-profile private clients, and exclusive events, while also maintaining long-term residencies at some of Miami’s most iconic venues. Today, through VITTYSAX, I specialize in creating unique live saxophone experiences for weddings, corporate events, luxury hospitality venues, and private celebrations.

Looking back, my journey has been built on years of dedication, continuous growth, and a genuine passion for connecting with people through music. What began as a childhood dream has become a career that allows me to share that passion with audiences around the world.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was moving from Cuba to the United States and having to adapt to an entirely new culture, environment, and way of life. The language barrier was a significant obstacle in the beginning, as I had to learn English while also building a career and establishing professional relationships in a new country.

Like many entrepreneurs and artists, I also faced the challenge of starting from scratch. Building a reputation takes time, especially in a highly competitive market like South Florida’s entertainment industry. There were many years of networking, performing consistently, and proving my value before earning the trust of venues, event planners, and clients.

Another challenge has been balancing the artistic side of music with the business side. Being a musician is only part of the equation; but running a successful business requires marketing, communication, organization, and constant adaptability.

Despite the obstacles, each challenge helped me grow both personally and professionally. Looking back, those experiences taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of staying committed to your goals even when the path is not always easy. None of it would have been attainable without God and the support of my wife, son and family.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a professional musician and live entertainer specializing in luxury events, weddings, corporate functions, hospitality venues, and private celebrations. Through VITTYSAX, I create unique live music experiences that blend the sophistication of live saxophone with contemporary, international, and high-energy music.

What many people don’t know is that my formal musical training was actually in clarinet. I studied clarinet at the National Institute of Art in Cuba and began my career as both a performer and music educator. When I was presented with an opportunity to move out of Cuba, the position required me to perform as a saxophonist. Rather than letting that opportunity pass, I dedicated myself to learning the saxophone and developing the skills necessary to perform at a professional level. That experience taught me the importance of adaptability, discipline, and continuous growth.

Today, I have had the privilege of performing at some of Miami’s most recognized venues as well as luxury weddings, private events, and corporate functions throughout the United States and internationally. What I am most proud of is building a successful career from the ground up in a new country while staying true to my passion for music.

I believe what sets me apart is not only my formal musical background and years of experience, but also my ability to connect with audiences and create the right atmosphere for every event. Every performance is customized to the occasion, and I approach each event with the same level of professionalism, energy, and attention to detail. Music is more than entertainment to me, it’s a way of creating memorable experiences that bring people together.

Any big plans?
I am excited about the future and the continued growth of both my career and my brand, VITTYSAX. My goal is to continue expanding beyond local performances and continue building a reputation as a premier saxophonist for luxury events, weddings, corporate functions, and international celebrations.

One of the things I look forward to most is bringing my music to new markets and audiences around the world. I want to continue traveling, performing at high-end events, and collaborating with talented artists and event professionals who share the same commitment to excellence.

I am also focused on growing the entertainment experiences I offer by incorporating new concepts, productions, and collaborations that create even more memorable moments for clients and guests. As the events industry continues to evolve, I want to stay innovative while maintaining the personal touch and quality that have helped me build lasting relationships with clients.

Most importantly, I hope to continue doing what I love while inspiring others through music. Every year brings new opportunities, and I am excited to see where this journey takes me next.
